I am here for Friends

About Me

Used to be a people helper and pleaser as well as a pretty good friend, I reckon. Now am not so collusive or full-on as I used to be but still have some great friendships which I highly value. Joined My Space to keep in touch and see what friends, my age and young people that I love are doing. Just seeing their faces lights up my day! Met Prabhupada in 1971 and for last ten years studied the Creative ARts in Therapy. Teach it at post grad level - sounds high and mighty maybe but it's not - it's a very intuitive and natural way of exploring personal experience . It's a beautiful way to spend time with people without trying to control them or question them like some therapeutic models...will post some pics of work and fun with other people doing this stuff. That's enough for now. Just want to connect with people - Oz is Paradise externally but a bit of a desert as far as sane devotees go............sorry, Ozzies - I miss my friends in other parts of the world - specially U.K. Yes, I still love food and colourful homes and clothes, drama and writing. I also love Jani!!!! SWitch the clock back about 100 years and I was in similar space in my teens, with less spirituality and no culture! Bit of a mischievous spirit and love of theatre though. That's probably enough - most people who know me would probably want to edit my profile!

My Interests

Being with people in reflective and creative moments chanting and kirtan - playing harmonium writing keeping connection with people who I value and love avoiding boring people

I'd like to meet:

Prabhupada again............we felt like we were in the room with him again just listening to Srutakirti's beautiful talks about his time with Prabhupada. He was so unpretentious that he just didn't get in the way of the remembrance and vision of Srila Prabhupada. MY friends in U.K. - if I write them, I'll miss someone out probably but I'd like to know when on earth Jani is coming to Oz for a visit. Bring some friends. We've got loads of space. A very wealthy sponsor so we can have creative arts therapy process workshops in the Himalayas! RADHA LONDONISWARA!!! Rasajna in USA, Sitala and Rama Mayapur etc...

Music:

kirtan some classical, some 60's but bored with a lot of it. some devotees' bhajans as long as they're not up themselves - can't stand kirtans where people are listening to themselves all the time and can't even hear other people responding!Prabhupada singing Vande Ham & Prayers to the 6 Gosvamis Some theatre and experiential stuff.

Movies:

Don't go often and too busy being in my life to hang out any longer on the computer than I already am. LIked Shawshank Redemption ages ago - am a bit of a justice freak - getting better at letting go though. Liked American Beauty. Like Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Kevin Spacey and other old people like me! Can't stand crummy American comedies.

Television:

Most of it's boring. Some English comedies as I've always loved satire and stuff like that.

Books:

Too lazy to read a lot of the time. Never seem to read fiction. Dont usually read unless I have to for research of something like that. Bhagavad gita when I'm sick in bed or my husband reads to me. Love it when I actually do read it! Sometimes read up about VAstu or Feng Shui. LIke reading other people's realisations about their life but it's not usually published stuff - more personal exchange. Sruta Kirti's book about Srila Prabhupada.

Heroes:

Srila Prabhupada ERnesto Spinelli - bloody great therapist Amekhala, Sitala and loads of friends and godsisters - even a few of the guys too. Loads of young people that I"ve met that have survived a heap of shit. Kay - my friend in Oz.
