First and formost let me give honor to my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ who was, is and always will be the head of my life. I was born March 17th in Birmingham, Alabama. My mother was a minister, so quite naturally thats how I began my career in gospel, as well as, R&B music.I began singing as a youngster with the gospel group "The Johnson Harmonaires", which also included my brother. After returing from the army, I formed my own group called "David Sea & The Question Marks. Later we changed that name to David Sea & The Uptown Movement, which was basically a rock & roll group. As a solo singer I recorded for the Hy-Tyde label, releasing such singles as 'Angel' and 'Destiny' in the early '80's. From that point there was no question that I had a passion to perform. I did some recordings on T-Jaye records, then I produced several hit albums on Birmingham's own "Magic City" Label. In 1984, I switched to the Crown Limited label for which Roscoe Robinson produced 'Do It Right Now' and 'Who's Been Warming My Oven' before coming close to replacing David Ruffin in The Temptations. I chose to move forward and continue with my solo career. My releases for Magic City Records continued with 'Night After Night' and albums 'David Sea' (1986), including 'I'm In The Mood' and 'Love C. O. D', and 'An Ocean Apart' (1990). I was personally chosen by Eddie Kendricks for the TEMPTATIONS REVIEW, like his '91 release, I was "BORN TO SING." In 1989 I joined Ruffin/Kendricks/Edwards, touring with these three GREAT 'Temptations' LEGENDS until after the untimely deaths of David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks. After that, I went on to record more Hit solo albums 'Bed Of Sea' in 1994 (a compilation of tracks from 'An Ocean Apart' and 'Born To Sing') and 'Searching For Love' in 1995, Groove Mission' on JVC from 1996 and "Live At Casino San Pablo" with Dennis Edwards and the "Temptations Review"I am distinguished in Japan and Europe for my albums: "OCEANS APART", "SEARCHING FOR LOVE" and "GROOVE MISSION. I've done many critically acclaimed plays such as "God's Trying To Tell You Somethin'" (94-95), I played "Oscar" in "Things Ain't What They Used To Be" (96) and "Somebody Ought to Tell God Thank-You" (97).Early 1999 I returned to perform with Dennis Edwards and the Temptations Review in keeping the memory of my friends Eddie Kendricks & David Ruffin and the "Classic Five" alive. I love singing for the Lord.I'm also known as Elder Johnson and I'm the praise and worship team leader for Conerstone Word of Faith Ministries. I'm currently touring with Dennis Edwards and the 'Temptations Review' and a new CD release with the guys entitled 'Look What The Lord Has Done" on Asend Records.I also released another new album around the end of 2006 entitled 'Love Makes The World Go Round' for Park Place Records. I am available for private booking through Johnson Entertainment. CALL (978)549-8773"THE SEA MAN" IS OFFICIALLY IN DEMAND! HELP BRING ME TO YOUR CITY AND I WILL SING FOR YOU!
