I’ve been screwing around with music for quite a while now. It all started at the age of 14 when I heard Guns and Roses ‘Appetite for destruction’ playing in the room of my older brothers. Later on I stole a cassette from them which was my first rock cassette. In the following years i went through various styles of music because i didn’t liked to stay at just one genre of music. When i was 21 my dj period started with playing at some birthday party’s with just two regular cd players. A big influence during this period was my oldest brother Ramon who was resident dj in the Abu Simbel in Ghent, where he mixed his various styles. A few years later a good friend aloud me to play with his Holy Technics SL-1200 turning tables and introduced me to the black vinyl. Thats how house music touched me again and moved me to buy my own second hand turning tables and my first vinyl records. After a while at the age of 26 i started to play at some local house party’s and ended up to play a several times in the Decadance (Ghent) and a few times together with my older brother Ithai who was resident dj there. During this period i moved to Antwerp and started to play at some local- and birthday party’s. On advice of my brother Ithai and a overload of house dj's, i choose to quit that scene and focuse myself on playing a mixture of various styles. After a couple of years i met Thomas who introduced me in to the Fish & Chips Antwerp, where he gave me a shot to try out my own cookin. After a while people told me to do something with it and asked me to make a compilation. So i did and that’s how I created ‘Homecookin’.Homecookin is a mix of various styles (Freestylin’) containing following ingredients: Funk, Soul, Disco, Hip Hop, Rnb, Reggae, Pop, Dance, House, Punk and Rocking beats. There are already three volumes of ‘Homecookin’. You can have a taste of my homecookin by pushing the play button at my soundkitchen.
To much to mention...
