there is only one absolute today and that is change.

About Me

Dance, when you're broken open.
Dance, if you've torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance, when you're perfectly free.

My Interests

this season-madras. reading and analyzing just about everything. sushi and cold pear sake. desserts, pink starbursts. saving animals from people. i indulge myself too much(most would say); my fav. recent purchase: new prada sunglasses.

I'd like to meet:

people who like to think. people who do not settle into stagnation and who want to learn. people who don't think being happy = stupid (oh, and for the shallow girly side: clive owen, hugh laurie, wentworth miller) Layout made by Bananafitch17

Music:

the cds i'm constantly listening to right now:
jurassic 5-feedback
the small stars-tijuana nights
electric six-fire

Movies:

great theater movies recently seen: 28 weeks later-super crazy-it made me a little nauseous. pan's labyrinth and reign over me. yeah, i cried. but i always cry.
latest, newest dvd watch: double indemnity. watching film noir makes me cool.

Television:

HOUSE M.D.-is it morbid that i'm completely in love with hugh laurie in this series? PRISON BREAK---LOOOOVE IT!

Books:

just read: great short works of leo tolstoy and a frank lloyd wright biography, penguin lives
currently reading: rothko biography, jorges luis borges's labyrinths next: saramago's seeing

Heroes:

virginia woolf, sofia coppola, st. francis of assisi (although i'm not particularly religious), susan bordo, ayn rand, simone de beauvoir, juror number 8 in 12 angry men, elaine benes

year 29: a pedagogy.

anyone who's been around me for more than a moment has been made fully aware of my trepidation regarding this day.  i've thrown it in your faces:  i'm getting old.  i've lain in bed, th...

oh the glory of it all

this is just a short excerpt from my current read, sean wilsey's memoir.  i found it to be achingly beautiful, for some reason (maybe because most of the work is sharp- tongued and darkly, brilli...
