Move Something

About Me

The music of "Move Something" has been described as, "Laid-back tunes that you broadcast to your backyard on a Sunday morning." Their studio work will pleasure your ears and ease your mind, while their live performances are nothing short of a high-energy celebration of sound.IAN RIDGEWAY, song writer and guitarist, found ALEX GREENE, drummer and percussionist, in the middle of 2005, and together they locked into a style that they share as all their own. In the winter of ’06, with the introduction of TODD GEE'S smooth melodic bass lines which "sweep through your ears, body and mind with blatant disregard for deliberation", "Move Something" was born. A blend of Ian’s more jazz-rock based improvisational playing, Todd’s funk-laden groovy bass lines, and Alex’s hard-rocking drum beats all mixed with fierce rhythmic precision creates a healthy concoction of funk, soul, rock, and energy that is sure to make you move."Move Something" is a band that prides itself in its ability to throw a party and create a high energy atmosphere for the occasion. However, the socially conscious and sometimes intimate lyrics behind their songs will also demand reflection on the world around us. So as they say with regard to their shows referred to as accordingly numbered "episodes," "stay tuned." With frequent bookings in the Eugene scene at places like Indigo District, Diablos Down Town Lounge, Luckey’s, John Henry’s and Latitude 21, as well as tremendous support from other local bands and individual musicians, the next episode of "The Movement" is sure to make you move. So get off your couch, and MOVE SOMETHING! Each show is different, the music is dynamic, and you will never tire of their arsenal of cover songs.
