About Me

Extended Network Banner made with MyBannerMaker.com! Click here to make your own! I can be kind of quiet sometimes and I definitely require time, most days, to collect my thoughts and recharge without too many distractions. I am, however, about as genuine, honest, and friendly a guy as they come. Sometimes those qualities have to be coaxed out a little because I can be pretty shy and reserved, but it doesn't take too much coaxing. I'll do pretty much anything for those who I consider friends and I'm pretty loyal to my friends. Most of those who I consider close friends, I've known for at least 10 years if not more. I actually have a friend who I've known since I was 4 and he was about 2. I was his best man at his wedding.I also have a very healthy sense of humor and I love to laugh and make jokes. Sometimes, I'm the only one who gets them and sometimes it's just a funny un-vocalized thought in my head, but hey, I still laugh. I have a passion for cooking, music, and scuba diving...not necessarily in that order and I love dogs...especially big dogs. I'm a dog person, but cats are cool, too.I'm kind of a computer nerd with only a dash of "nerd". I probably spend WAY too much time online, but it actually is helping me meet more people, oddly enough.I haven't traveled much, but I've been to Kauai and Cozumel (3 times). I'd like to travel to other places. I think it would be a major rush to go diving with sharks...maybe in the Caymans or the Great Barrier Reef, but I haven't worked up the courage or the funds yet.I can do a pretty good Hank Hill voice and Homer Simpson voice, but you have to persuade me. I know how to make beer and have done so many times.

My Interests

Scuba diving, cooking, music (playing/listening/watching), gardening, my dogs, religions (I'm not a religious person, I just like learning about them), learning in general.

I'd like to meet:

Famous people: The Dalai Lama, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Garner, others I can't think of right now...Non-famous people: an attractive, rich, successful woman who can support me in the lifestyle to which I would like to become accustomed or an attractive woman who can put up with me...whichever comes first.

Movies:

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Little Big Man (old Dustin Hoffman flick), The Matrix, pretty much all of the Star Wars movies (although not all scenes), to name a few. Pan's Labyrinth, Garden State, Napoleon Dynamite, Sideways, even Spiderman 1 and 2. I like most movies that I choose to see...that's not to say I like most movies, however. Sci-fi, comedy, indie films, action, even the movie Pi had something I liked. It's probably high on the list of weirdest movies I've seen, though. The thing is, I don't get out to the theaters much. I'm usually a renter.

Television:

The 4400 on the USA network. There's also 24, House, The Food network, PBS, gardening and landscaping programs, and the Animal channel.

Books:

The Tipping Point and Blink by Malcom Gladwell. Interesting reads. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a good portion of Isaac Asimov's work, several other sci-fi authors who's names I can't remember right now, most if not all of Frederick Forsyth's work, Imperial Hubris, various dog training books, Cesar Milan's book, Robert Ludlum (think Bourne Identity, etc.). I'm currently reading The God Delusion. I'm quite certain it's not a very popular book with anyone who is religious, but I like to read differing views.

Heroes:

My dad, my mom, dads and moms in general, anyone who has the guts and determination to set high goals and see them through despite any hurdles thrown in their path. The soldiers who are tasked with defending our country and the values that we hold dear (which is entirely different than the buttholes that send them to places like Iraq, etc. for made up reasons).
