Sounds Like: Growing up in Mexico or somewhere in Latin America, attending an american school populated by mostly spoiled rich kids, other interesting internationals, and your friends as global misfits and outcasts thrown in the mix of this one surreal setting where political leaders to be (by pedigree), sons of corporate heads, diplomats and of world-class drug lords all sit in the same classroom, and we can only make sense of it with the fury of rock n roll, industrial music, new wave, twisted poetry and parties, raves, and sounds from the velvet underground to the local mariachi band, where jimmy hendrix, joe strummer, leonard cohen and the likes would try to make sense between this unfair third world-ish but immensely human and warm Latin setting and our much colder northern ruling neighbors and friends, where we make our journey towards. Drive on the fast lane and crank up the music!

BARRA LIBRE "45 ORCHARD" EP
Not too long ago, in a rehearsal studio thats no longer, in a part of the lower east side where rents were low, demand was high, and China town was not too far, Barra Libre poured their hearts out loudly every Saturday for all the neighborhood to hear. With the help of fellow studio mate Matt, and producer Giorgio Gomelsky, BL then went on to produce a live and raw recording there at the rehearsal space to be known as Live at 45 Orchard before getting kicked out of the studio this Winter. No it wasnt for driving the neighbors mad, (though it was close) but because the building was sold to be renovated into more expensive condos that come as a result of gentrification, which the bordering Chinatown is now fighting. So the recording was a tribute and a goodbye.
You can get a copy of "45 Orchard" at any Barra Libre show or online at CD Baby while supplies last: http://cdbaby.com/cd/barralibre
