Brazen - Celtic Voices

About Me

Brazen formed some years ago in the hey-day of Auckland's raucous folk scene, thanks to some whisky, a mutual love of Gillian Welch and the Dog's Bollix Bar. Jo Taylor and Lou Hayes had performed together before in the legendary NZ folk rock band Alfalfameo. Ang Kidd was a relative newcomer to music in general and took to it like a duck to water. New Zealand wasn't quite prepared for the explosion that took place when these three Brazen lasses joined forces! Astonishing twists on traditional songs, glorious harmonies and energising performances abound as the Power of Three is unleashed on songs from all over the world - Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand and North America included. After a short time exploring new horizons and pushing boundaries all over the place, Brazen is ready to take on the world. But is the world ready for them...?
