I am here for Friends

About Me

I grew up in a little town in upstate New York called Highland. My Mom was a school teacher in the Highland Central School District for 34 years starting out as a substitute and moving on to a permanent 4th grade position. My Dad was a Police Officer in Highland for 14 years, a member of the Highland Fire Department for 43 years and served 3 terms as Town Supervisor (Mayor). My Dad passed away on September 15, 2007 of a heart attack. I will miss him terribly! (Please see my Blogs) While in high school, I spent three summers in Maine working at a summer camp near Readfield called Camp Laurel. After graduation, I served in the U.S. Air Force and settled in Denver, Colorado. There's just something about the Rocky mountains that calls to me! I am very happily married to a wonderful woman that I met, of all places, on the internet. We recently received custody of my son from a previous relationship (don't get me started) and we couldn't be happier! My oldest daughter graduated from high school two years ago (God, I feel old!) and is currently attending college to become a Veterinarian. We are very proud of her! My wife is a nurse and helps me run my Mobile Disc Jockey service providing entertainment for wedding receptions and a variety of corporate events. (Party Time Productions ... We Make Memories!) (http://hometown.aol.com/djslyd01/myhomepage/) My wife and I are also involved in my sons Cub Scout Pack. She is my sons Den Leader and I am the Assistant Cubmaster. I was involved in Scouting as a youth (my Dad was my Webelos leader) and even though things have changed a bit, the core values still seem to be intact. I like that! Things in my life that I am proud to have done, High School graduate, Member of the United States Air Force (AMMO!), Volunteer Firefighter (Southwest Adams County Fire Department), Emergency Medical Technician (Reed Ambulance), Disaster Response Team Captain for the Red Cross, Promoted seatbelt usage in Colorado by making personal appearances as a crash test dummy (Vince & Larry), DJ'ed over 4000 Wedding Receptions, Father, Husband, Homeowner in Westminster and now, Cub Scout Leader. *********************************************************
