THIS IS THE MUSIC PAGE FOR JOEL STANLEY...At only 22, Joel Stanley is proving himself to be one of the most diverse drummers in the UK. From the age of 16 he was depping for Sarah-Jane Morris (Communards’ Duet, Don’t Leave Me This Way) and The Wildhearts support band. He has worked with Damon Albarn (Gorillaz) and Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) and is currently playing with several Midlands-based bands playing at Download, CBGB’s NYC, Radio 1 Introducing, Glastonbury and Bestival racking up gigs in the UK, US and Europe.
To add to that he also holds several percussion residencies for UK clubs playing in Ibiza, Stourbridge, London and Birmingham.
Currently playing to over 60, 000 people at theatres across Europe with MONKEY: JOURNEY TO THE WEST (appearing also in the Endemol documentary on BBC1)
He is in demand for live and studio sessions and known as a meticulous drum technician to some of today’s greatest players such as Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter, This Is Menace, China Style) and Andy Edwards (Robert Plant, IQ, Frost) and bands like The Enemy, Jack Penate and The Good, The Bad & The Queen.
Recently he has been recording sessions in the BBC’s Maida Vale with Riff Raff and Foals (for Jo Whiley’s Live Lounge).
Now he shares his skills as an inspirational teacher to over 40 students of varied ages and abilities and runs popular masterclass and clinic formats to showcase his work and diversity.
Joel is able to work with acoustic and electric drums, all percussion and samplers covering all styles.
