About Me

You’ve seen her hustling through the subway station in her Jimmy Choo stilettos. As the doors close she sits down, pops her iPod earbuds in her ears, hits play and starts tapping away at the keys on her laptop. She is putting the finishing touches on the presentation she is scheduled to deliver in 30 minutes. Her phone buzzes. It’s a text. She stops tapping at the laptop and begins to tap the keys of the phone. She’s making plans to meet the girls at happy hour after work.
Who’s that girl? She’s a Get 'Em Girl.A Get 'Em Girl is the essence of the urban woman; she sets trends and exudes confidence. Get 'Em Girls is a lifestyle brand that tells the story of the sassy, fierce, feminine, intelligent, provocative, motivated, chic, urban, nurturing, audacious, level-headed, diverse, unique, tenacious, fashionable, and brand-savvy woman.

"If the only kitchen you're familiar with is the one at the nape of your neck, then The Get'Em Girl's Guide to Unlocking the Power of Cuisine: A Sassy Girl's Cookbook (Subira) is the investment of a lifetime. It's the cookbook that belongs in every working girl's kitchen next to a set of gorgeous Riedel wine glasses. While the diva down the block insists on being wined and dined, you'll have much more to bring to the table, thanks to this collection of culinary classics. With tips on stocking your cupboards and selecting the perfect Pinot, as well as easy-to-follow menus, Get'Em Girl is the recipe for impressing the man you've been eyeing. And trust; you'll be the one enjoying dessert."
- Kim Rose, Vibe Vixen Magazine

"I ain't going to lie. I used to go around thinking it was cute that I couldn't cook. I learned real quick how wrong I was. I'm not saying that it's a women's duty, but finding (keeping) a mate is like finding (keeping) a job, the more skills you have, the better off you'll be. I was happy to hear that the authors' goal wasn't to encourage women to be chained to the stove, rather, the book is intended to get women to invest time in themselves and their relationship. Check out the The Get 'Em Girls at www.getemgirls.com/ "
- Felicia Pride, BlackVoices.com

"This cookbook has the stated goal of uplifting women by helping them use food to get the man of their dreams. Which means this is not Betty Crocker cuisine. More about wooing then seducing, these recipes are serious comfort food. And don’t worry, the authors also offer advice for what to do after the romance blossoms."
-The Associated Press

"It's an excellent starter cookbook! The perfect Christmas gift for a slew of girlfriends with high-powered careers and no skills in the kitchen!"
- Beverly "Bevy" Smith, TV Personality and Fashion Maven

"Skills, that's what this book is about. I never heard of anyone doing anything well, without having the skills to accomplish what they set out to do. The Get 'Em Girls give you the tools to set the perfect table, select the perfect wine and cook the perfect meal for whatever the occasion requires. Great tips for the newbie cook and great recipes for anyone who wants to impress. I also liked the non-cooking writing, I really like these women, and they have brains and heart. Enjoy!!"
- Nancy Taylor

"Hallelujah, someone has finally published a cookbook that is easy to use. The Official Get 'Em Girl's Guide is wonderful, recipes are simple and easy to follow, food is delicious, and the extra pointers for completing a meal including wine and ambiance are extraordinary. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

"Good food and good conversation will have a lasting impression with any man. Cooking for me is very relaxing and doesn't make me feel less sexy or less independent…To all you "hamburger helper girls" a man remembers a good home cooked meal longer than anything else."
-Karen Thompson

"A great way to bond with friends and lovers alike, is over a meal. Not something store-bought, but a lovingly prepared meal lets people know just how important they are to you."
