Shows July 26th - The White Horse - High Wycombe - supporting Mimi Soya
Press 'Those intricate basslines, manic drums, complex and precise guitar solos, not too mention the histrionic vocals. Reading four-piece londonstreetsoundtrack are a brave band. And a talented one by the sounds of this.' - XFM 'For ambitiously named 4-piece Londonstreetsoundtrack, Friday the 13th is living up to its reputation. One of the other bands has already dropped out and the last band left the crowd looking like someone died. LSS singer Alex is onstage desperately trying to implement damage control, drummer Lucas is fucking swearing at his fucking stupid drum kit and the other two have gone for a cigarette. Thankfully though, they're worth the wait. Interesting, indie boy looks? Sure; Well dressed? Of Course; Sound fucking phenomenal live? Ohmygod yes. The band storm through a tight set with connotations of what you'd probably get if you threw some of their influences into a sweaty little room. A sort of heady, rock n roll cocktail with ingredients ranging from a shambolic charm not dissimilar to the Libertines; all stomping drum beats and guitar work, with the clear influence of Northstar and incredible urgency of Bloc Party floating around somewhere in the middle. The kind of cocktail that gets you good and drunk. They've definitely got something. When confident (in a more charismatic sense than a bored, BrandonFlowers sense) frontman Alex demands 'I wanna see you dance' you feel rude not to. And anyway, 'The' bands are over. These days its aaaall about bands who squeeze words together to make one long word. Rollonroundtwo.' Priya Roy
