Looking for musical projects or to teach

About Me

Bassist, musician, composer, song writer and I’m here to show my face and sounds around. I’m looking to become a session player for studio and live work and hopefully to pick up some students while I’m at it. I am competent at playing and teaching in all styles, so if interested send me a message. Also feel free to leave comments.
After having listened to various musical styles (with artists ranging from Mike Oldfield to Metallica) I established that it was in fact the Bass that was one of the chief driving forces behind music, the instrument no one really notices or pays great attention to, though when its not there you somehow cant help but noticing. I found this humble and yet crucial position interesting and so decided to start playing the Bass guitar.
Now 5 years on I still enjoy this position whilst also becoming (when necessary) a more leading factor of the music, by means of not so humble techniques and a sense of melody found more often in guitar players and pianists. With this I now compose full songs and musical scores using a wide pallet of instruments always aiming to create atmosphere, emotion, dynamic and texture whilst also providing a strong sense of rhythm and groove, harmony and melody.
In the mean time I have been involved in various bands and projects the first of which was Revelation. This was a progressive heavy metal band formed by myself and drummer friend Tom Flinders in 2002. After settling with guitarist Lyall Brandon Smith (who also later took the role of vocals) we started creating our own music, with little structure or direction, though as time went on this improved and we earned favourable reviews from local websites for both live performances and recorded material. And in 2003 our first CD ‘Hiding Behind’ won Demo of the year on www.bedfordmetal.com , and again in 2005 for our second recording, which we recorded, produced, mixed and mastered ourselves in our home set up ‘Heavens Scent Studios’ some examples of this can be heard here. Due to member unavailability and musical differences Revelation stopped work in 2006 each member following their own musical ideas with Tom (drums) joining Backup, a rock/metal band using rapped and sung vocals with a high standard of musicianship (visit them at http://www.myspace.com/backupradio) and Lyall (guitar and vox) creating his own atmospheric, biographical, solo music aptly titled, Perception Of I (which can be heard at http://www.purevolume.com/perceptionofi ). And me?? ......... I finally got myself a girlfriend (who can be seen at http://www.myspace.com/enslave666 ). Nah I did more than that, I also successfully finished studying Music Technology at college and recorded my own music while I was there (which can be heard here, Gayface and Regret) and am now in the process of composing a number of songs and pieces which I plan to soon be recorded and released.
