High Energy Rockin Roll with a Fresh, Modern Twist

About Me

:: BIOGRAPHY ::

In today's market, certain buzz phrases are over-used and under-valued. You may have heard the following buzz words a hundred times: powerhouse vocals, original, superior musicianship, great hooks, energetic live performances. With so much hype and so little substance, how do you convey the real deal? It's simple. You state the facts and let the music speak for itself.

In 2007, Alpha Music Group, a management firm located on Broadway in New York, conducted a competition/search for a rock band that encompassed every aspect of the word talent. Thousands of bands auditioned. One band was chosen – Floor Thirteen.

"Powerhouse Vocals …"

In 2006, Canadian Idol conducted a 10-city cross-country search for the next major singing sensation. After thousands of auditions, Floor Thirteen's lead singer Koz was selected. Two million fans tuned in to hear Koz's hard-edge rock style and he landed in the top 20.

In Hollywood, celebrated rock guitarist Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke, hosts of the popular reality show, ROCK STAR: INXS, auditioned 10,000 singers for a coveted spot on the show. Once again, Floor Thirteen's Koz land in the top 30 out of 10,000.

"Original, Super Musicianship, Great Hooks…"

In 2007, Mazda's marketing team went on a mission to find a band and a song that would sell the college market. They were looking for a sound that the young, itune-buying, video-game playing, social networking consumers would connect with and be loyal to. Floor Thirteen's song "Night Train" was chosen for Mazda's online game "campus joyride." (www.campusjoyride.ca)

Astral Records (Australia) took notice of Floor Thirteen and issued a non-exclusive license for "Night Train" and "Jenny Lane" for their Dead Famous Compilation Series.

The Sci-Fi Network licensed the high-energy single "Bright Light Rockin'City" for the movie Grizzly Rage which is currently in production to be aired to millions this summer. "Bright Light Rockin' City" was also chosen for Power 97's (97.5 fm, Winnipeg) "Class of 2005" CD and was entered into the station's regular rotation.

Every Barnes and Noble store across the U.S., 800 stores in 50 states, carried "Call Me What You Will" which was featured in No Cover Magazine and CD Compilation. No Cover Magazine distributed 20,000 magazines with 5,000 CD's which sold-out.

The Inside Connection Radio Show aired on WLIX 104.5 in New York selected "Call Me What You Will" which will be broadcasted to 1,200,000 households.

"Call Me What You Will" also debuted in the top 20 on XM Radio's and remains in regular rotation.

"Night Train" was licensed to Destination Winnipeg Promo Video, to promote the City of Winnipeg.

"Energetic Live Performances…"

Floor Thirteen has shared the stage with Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman (The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive) as well as some of Canada's hottest rock acts, including Our Lady Peace, Danko Jones, Stripper's Union and Crystal Pistol to name a few. They have captured their live energy in a video. Their fan base includes the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK.

Thomas Garnet (Gar) Gillies, tube amplification pioneer and founder of the Garnet Amplifier Company, has served countless rock 'n' roll bands in the '60s and '70s, most notably The Guess Who, before the company's closing in 1989 and then continued repairing amplifiers for years afterward. Many prominent artists still currently use Garnet amplifers such as Dallas Good (the Sadies), Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar/Grady), Jeff Martin (the Tea Party), and many local artists including our very own guitarist Marc Jaworski (Floor Thirteen)!
