HEY WARRIORS, COME OUT AND PLAYYYYEEEYAAAYYY

About Me

I'm the son of other-wordly royalty who abandoned me on a coin-op horsey in front of a busy Grocery store in a tiny midwestern town. Adopted by a loving human family. Friendly. Dreamer. Quasi-intellectual. Beloved dork. Mildly dishevelled. Yummy. Personable. Sometimes shy, sometimes not. Sometimes a dumb-ass romantic, sometimes a sentimental playboy. Singer. Songwriter. Trumpet Player ([s] make better kissers). Very polite and kind-natured, but I swear too much. Dedicated LEGS man, although I'm easily distracted by a lot of other parts too. Comfortably ambiguous at times (hey, what's an extra-terrestrial to do?) Mac snob. Music snobbier. Don't have headshots--don't want any. I know the difference between "there", "they're", and "their." On an unrelated and perhaps frightening note: I teach high schoolers......and I LOVE my job........Brought to you by the letter "V", and the number "13". The rest is just made up, honestly.

My Interests

I'm into Rockin' out; Making out; Hot Sauce; Mexican soft drinks; gummy anything--worms; rats, grizzlies, poo--you name it; exploring & discovering; driving with the top down; breakfast foods; hard to find but tasty beers; touring Europe for 27 days on $465 American cash(!?); obscure historical facts; the "coincidence vs. fate" argument; bbq's/grillouts; armchair cosmology and astrophysics; licking eyelids; public transit systems; good conversations with total strangers; Five-mile walks to clear the head; music (listening, writing, and just goofing off); revolutionary ideas; incendiary thoughts; filthy secrets; sweet nothings; libraries (they're not just for reading, y'know--rowrrrrr); neckwear on honkin' mamas (Do I sense a theme here?); Dodgers games in the cheap seats with my drunk friends; Getting the Bush family out of politics for good; and of course, Kickin' Ass in a general, non-violent sort of way.

I'd like to meet:

I wanna' meet people who are the best (or at least getting better) at exactly what they want to be: Goofs. Creatures of leisure. Musicians. Astronauts. Florists. Writers. Nudists. Beekeepers. Nude Beekeepers. Painters. Gardeners. Bus Drivers, Rodeo Clowns. Philosophers. Dishwashers. Philanthropists. GoGo Dancers. Dog Walkers. Architects. Dreamers. Brewmeisters. Folks with a clever comment or a funny thought. But of course, hot mamas with filthy minds who are okay with my thing for neckwear--lots of those...or maybe even just one good one.

Music:

I can't hear enough of the Pixies, the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Cure, Fugazi, Secret Machines, Jon Spencer BX, Blonde Redhead, Funk, Bowie, T Rex, Hank Williams Sr., Patsy Cline, Nina Simone, Peaches, Iggy, Television, The Flaming Lips (old and new), AIR, The Washdown, Junior Senior, MC5, Pulp (I can't tell you how many times I've been told I look like Jarvis Cocker), Bedroom Walls, Midnight Radio, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Morphine, Prince, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, !!!, Spoon, Arcade Fire, The Starlight Mints, Sleepy Jacksons, Billie Holliday, the Flash Express, Faraway Places, The Movies, The Midnight Movies, Blvd., The Doves, The 88, Soulwax, Engine 88, Sebadoh, Pavement, Prince, The Draconians, Beck, Viva K, old Jane's Addiction, Ima Robot, Meow Meow, The Features, Whitey, Silversun Pickups, the Holograms, Black Pine, Franz Ferdinand, Kitty Solaris, Mook, Glossary, Rodleen Getsic, been diggin' some M.I.A. lately (damn, she's good.) ...And the never-ending rythms and melodies swimming through my head.

Movies:

I'll watch ANYTHING by: Terry Gilliam, The Coen Bros., Wes Anderson, PT Anderson, older Scorsese, Richard Linklater, Ken Burns, Hensen, Oz and the Muppets, or Michael Moore; in addition to Apocolypse Now, nearly ANY zombie flick, Midnight Cowboy, Once Upon a Time in the West, Notorious (hottest makeout scene EVER), Akira, all the rock movies --Quadrophenia, The Wall, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, This Is Spinal Tap, Velvet Goldmine, 24 Hour Party People (just about anything but "Last Days"--what a complete piece of poopoo)....and a lot of foreign and indie stuff that I can't recall now that I'm trying to...

Television:

Screw tv. Except PBS--that's like the broccoli of TV, though.

Books:

I read: Steinbeck (Champion of the underdog), Douglas Coupland (Champion of the Reagan Generation), Kurt Vonnegut (if you don't know, I can't help you), Hemmingway (old school "macho-lit'), Chuck Palahniuk (nuveau "macho-lit"), Stephen Hawking (likes to write about Time and black holes), Douglas Adams (Sci-Fi / Social Satire / Comedy), Tom Robbins (likes to write about transcending mediocrity...and fucking), Jeffrey Euginides "Middlesex" (best damn book I've read in a LONG time). David Sadaris (likes to write about the stupid shit he and his family does). "Everybody Poops" (Profoundly Cute Toilet Reading).................and WAY more text books than I ever DREAMED I would or could.

Heroes:

My own exclusive and personal HALL OF F%#*ING FAME. (You too, could someday be an inductee.) Upon induction, members are bequeathed with the middle name "F%#*ing", e.g. "John F%@#ing Steinbeck." In the case that they go by only one name, they get the name "Motherf*%$ing" added, e.g. "Motherf$*@ing Prince." See how that works? In the end, we're all just one, big, happy f%$#ing family of my heroes!

Education

It strikes me that it isn't how much information the kids retain. It's what they take from it that matters. WHY do they need to know things? Isn't it more important to learn HOW to learn than to be ...

Instant city.

Just got back from Coachella. It was sweaty, dry, hot, dusty, loud, crazy fun. In the end, I wound up eating a tuna sandwich and crashing head on with a bed and falling into a coma for the next 8 ho...

These things sneek up on me more than they did when I turned, say, 21. I think I'll have one of the beers left over from the party. Cheers!
