The Road To Rampton (that’s the nut house folks) finds The Anti-Nowhere League committed! A raving beauty - epic and engaging fulfilling all expectations!!! Gone but not forgotten are those carefree days of So What and I Hate People (They Hate Me). It cuts to the core with shocking revelations and bitter truths as always. Put on your best dancing boots and straightjacket (if you have one) for a rock and roll ravaging. 16 killer tracks that overshadow everything that’s come before. Their therapy of choice from a tragic world and its cold heart of stone. It’s a gift.Getting the party started is The Clashesque ‘Good as it gets’ and it gets even better and down to business with ‘Short Sharp Shock’. Animal rips your heart out on a molten bed of rock and goes for the throat while his own voice sounds magnificent in all its glorious personas. Amanda Szwarc’s sweet asylum backing vocals kick into a demented ‘Unwanted’ and she makes a lovely nurse on ‘Medication’. Dr Animal makes an appearance alongside several other interesting personalities of his. He’s in his theatrical element – it’s pure genius or madness - they're not messing around and they aint takin no more......medicine!This is a disturbed and deranged truly bold & beautiful mind as they serenade the ‘Big yellow moon’ just after a midnight howl!!! Hearts and souls are purged along the way but melody and beat is not sacrificed at their altar of hard rock and tough love. Is that a honkytonk piano I hear on ‘Never drink alone’? It sounds fantastic. Good boys… and only one little rude word – hardly notice it in “my life has Turn to shit”. I said ‘the Ship Song’! ‘Self harm’ and the rest IS HUGE - look out Alice Cooper! Like their antics in the streets of those early punk days they belong in Theatre – the motor’s already running and they’re heading in that direction. The dynamics of the band sees Jez, Shady & Nato now a polished, well oiled Love/Hate machine swinging into high gear as they take it away in dual guitar attack soaring to great heights.‘Time is running out’ and ticking to dramatic effect. ‘My Gods bigger than yours’ (Blessed Be He) turns on a global war zone pre Armageddon. Back in ‘Rampton’ the orchestral arrangements together with Animal’s lunatic ravings bring the proceedings to a climactic finale. Hearing him sing “I lost myself along the Road To Rampton” is intensely haunting. At ‘The end of the day’ as they ride out into the sunset beyond… we haven’t “lost our faith and hope in you” Anti-Nowhere League. Come to mama. Bravo Nowhere Records! With an iron fist that has been remade on The Road To Rampton the new age begins here!!! Vive the League.***************************************************** ******Australian Edition: A Power So Divine -- THE ANTI-NOWHERE LEAGUE -- Out of Nowhere - A Superpunk Force to be reckoned with - fighting the good fight with the good steel fist - bringing the Kings & Queens Tour back to Australia & NZ in November 2006 - the full story so far --Made in England, hailing from the fair garden city of Tunbridge Wells, a rare breed of iron horsemen riding big black motorbikes and playing punk rock to live and die for, exploded into the heart of the post punk era hot on the heels of the Sex Pistols, sharing the same filthy reputation (& musical instruments). They forged their way through the independent UK charts with We’re the League, For You, So What (later covered by Metallica), I Hate People, On the Waterfront etc. hitting number one with Streets of London which also gained some mainstream success. Independently and mercilessly they unleashed a barrage of classic punk albums across the continents that have been received with open arms around the globe ever since. and they’ve “been to Yugoslavia” where the chant is “we love Nick” (that would be lead singer Animal)! They had their own brand of punk filled with the typical hopes and disgust of the day that even then held vision and promise of a better way though that side of it went mostly overlooked. The new improved testament of the Anti-Nowhere League is a long held alliance and an accomplished beast. They are… Animal / Nick - enterprising frontman and tower of power - not only is he a real Animal and held in high esteem by the Hell’s Angels but proving to be the stuff of legends. Guitarists - Jez / Jamie gets the motor running - keeping it highly tuned, adding the right kind of muscle to sonic perfection - not just a pretty face. Shady / Simon on bass turns this rhythm section into their classiest act yet and is producer-in-punk extraordinaire with even more brutal powerhouse drumming now in the hands of Nato / Dave - an Outlaw gang back on the road going from strength to strength. It’s all there in their long awaited album Kings & Queens - 12 tracks of pure punk gold. The other three tracks were banned… again!!This is sublime Anti-Nowhere League doing what they do best from full blown anthems to festive singalong. There’s even a reggae number Wet Dream by Jamaican Max Romeo - a very catchy tune indeed - and in League tradition Animal has his way with it! Mission To Mars is stunning, wickedly hilarious and like all the new songs simply brilliant. Am I Dead is a mesmerising masterpiece of League therapy. A ‘tender’ moment with There is no God but he sees the light in the annihilating Punk Prayer - it is written - according to their code under the sacramental veil. Kings & Queens has captured the Anti-Nowhere League in magnificent full flight is something to behold.Back home they’ve been touring full-on throughout England and Europe’s punk festival circuit over to America, Canada and Brazil. The new album was close to release on their last tour here in 2004 when they arrived with nothing but themselves and a fistful of what’s in store. That’s plenty. You know it’s all good when you hear someone say “that’s the best song in the whole world” - it had to be Woman. This time around they’re also bringing a DVD covering their latest tours as well as Pig Iron…The Album, an entirely remastered 18 track CD of the Scum and Pig Iron EP together with the controversial three new songs. These were omitted from Kings & Queens by the record company when threatened by the law with incitement of a minority group. As Animal says “we don’t want to upset anyone!” But they’ve had an epic battle on their hands over The Adventures of Peter Vile (about paedophiles), The Day the World Turned Gay and Landlord. Things change - in the early days their albums were confiscated for being offensive to the majority. It’s the Incitement of Hatred Act whereby artists and bands are being told by the government what’s acceptable for us to hear. Oh dear, a Nick festival intro into I Hate People… “We’ve all been put on this earth to love one another… but I Hate You”… and then he went on to name a few - in high places - that did it! The cause for concern is that you can’t state an opinion without fear of reprisal from the authorities while they protect the really offensive who marginalise themselves from us. Parting words “Don’t let them get you down!” It’s Just Another Day (In Paradise) and another Perfect Crime - you’ll hear it Live. This extraordinary league of gentlemen have always been known for their social conscience and lack of pretension eg. Piggy (the Lesson of Life) and they don’t tolerate, well, much at all when it comes to injustice or complete nonsense - politically correct or not! They portray a feel that’s larger than life and can handle melodrama on a grand scale - all the better to stand and deliver and say it like it is - or be damned!! On the one hand/fist - it’s relentless hardcore that won’t back down, while on the other - it rock & rolls with the sound of a freight train coming, carrying a heavy load, that’s strangely soothing to the soul! There’s great beauty to be found here in their music and their words ring true. It’s exciting and dramatic, it’s big, it’s sexy and moves with a speed that’s almost deadly - extreme fun setting hearts ablaze. Now, with the empowering, timely arrival of their record label Nowhere Records Ltd the Anti-Nowhere League realm is set on solid rock of their own making. They are already back in the recording studio with an abundance of material “and other interesting projects”, while many previously lost or hidden treasures are about to come into the light of a new day. With that same renowned honest and explicit attitude ever-intact they mean business as usual. So buckle up, enjoy the ride and where to next? Nowhere Records presents Road To Rampton - coming soon to a venue near you - for a mind-blowing “trip” into the unknown.Touring Australia and New Zealand in November (2006) stopping off at The Empire Hotel in Sydney on Saturday 11 for an almighty punkfest and Her Majesty’s Basement Bar in Brisbane on Sunday 12 for some League action with The Disables, Mouthguard and girl-punk-power to Razel before NZ and then over to Adelaide and on to Melbourne. Long Live The League!
