Elton John!

Elton John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight March 25, 1947 in a London Subarb. Throughout the 1960s, he was a member of various bands. He started playing piano at the age of 15 at a nearby pub. In 1964, he formed the band Bluesology with a few of his friends. In 1966, the band became Long John Baldry's supporting band. In 1967, he met his lyricist Bernie Taupin & he also changed his name to Elton John in honor of Bluesology's saxophonist Elton Dean & Bluesology singer Long John Baldry. His success with one of his Top 10 Hits, "Your Song" (written with Bernie Taupin) is what brought EJ to such success in the United States. Since the 1970s, Elton has been one of the most biggest pop artists of our culture. Now, Elton John has sold over 250 million records, as well as having over 50 Top 40 hits, making him one of the most successful musicians of all time!
