About Me

hi, i'm andrea-i just moved from a small town to los angeles, and right now i'm out here designing, going to school, and getting used to the fact that i won't have to scrape ice off my car windows in winter anymore. i design pretty much full time, and am in the process of putting together a website that you can by directly from. otherwise, lets see..aside from work, i spend most of my time drawing or reading. i like fonts. alot. i put ketchup on everything humanly possible and like drinking gin and tonics. i'm HUGE fan of classic cars, my all-time favorite is the 67 Chevelle, with the 59 Impala a close second. and i dont think there is anything wrong with singing Journey as loud as possible in the car.

More about my clothes
everything i make is designed and sewn from start to finish by me... i make my own patterns and use a singer 9940 sewing machine and a huskylock serger- so everything is professionally finished (and can take a beating!)

My Interests

horror movies, philosophy, designing, sewing/drawing/silkscreening, rational people & good conversation, winter in california, classic cars, sarcasm, coffee!!! ramen & thai noodles, tattoos, murder ballads and good books.
not into: phones. a necessary evil.

I'd like to meet:

people who don't lie. objectivists & chess players.

Music:

Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that I really didn't understand any of their work. It was too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think "Invisible Touch" is the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility, at the same time it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Take the lyrics to "Land of Confusion." In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problem of abusive political authority. "In Too Deep" is the most moving pop song of the 1980s about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Phill Collins solo efforts seem to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying in a narrower way, especially songs like "In the Air Tonight" and "Against All Odds." But I also think that Phill Collins works better within the confines of the group than as a solo artist-and I stress the word artist.

but i digress. anyway.... THE DECEMBERISTS!!!, Lucero, The Black Heart Procession, Neutral Milk Hotel, Murder by Death, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Jesus & Mary Chain, Townes Van Zandt, Whiskeytown & Ryan Adams, Morrissey, Norfolk & Western, Old Crow Medicine Show, Devotchka, Mike Ness/Social D, Sun Kil Moon, Eisley, Hank Williams (the first and third), Neko Case, Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells, The Platters, Old 97's, The Good Life, Bonjovi, Guns N Roses, My Morning Jacket, Remy Zero, Peter Murphy, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Smiths, Depeche mode, VNV Nation, Beborn Beton, Wolfsheim, Skinny Puppy, DeVision, Apoptygma, Front 242, Covenant, Project Pitchfork, Xymox ... blah blah...Oh. and i still like the Gin Blossoms. so there.
