Venus~In Your Blood~

Well let’s see, my mother named me Amanda Lynne because of the music in it (i.e. a mandolin) cute huh? While born in Orange County, I left that hell hole at the ripe old age of 2 and moved to a small town nestled in the Owens Valley on the Eastern side of the Sierras called Bishop; which I must say was totally boring however safe and secure. Due to this locale, I learned to pee in bushes, make a campfire, drive on dirt roads and the joys of a destruction derby. I escaped after high school and went on a four-year adventure at UC Santa Barbara. Managed to graduate on time as well as divulge in many extra curricular activities like theme parties, wine nights, and beer pong (my favorite sport). Now I’m working at my alma mater and slowly figuring out what I want to do with the rest of my time here on planet Earth. I enjoy the little things in life (yes, yes, simple things entertain simple minds). I had a horse for a number of years but had to give up riding due to its expense and fear of being labeled a cowboy (no, I didn’t do the rodeo). I played soccer in high school. I hate flatlanders. I like ladybugs, wild irises, Twix bars, margaritas (well any booze but gin), trivia board games, Mario Party, Mario kart and Donkey Kong Country. I watch a lot of TV (MTV and VH1 mostly) because I lost my love to the World of Warcraft. I have two awesome brothers, one of whom I live with, which makes life especially entertaining and easier, as he knows how to clean up after himself unlike other roommates. I overanalyze insignificant things, like the floor plan of my neighbor’s apartment from listening to their foot patterns through the walls. I like to people watch and wonder what they’re thinking about. I have a very photographic memory, while taking tests in college, I could visualize the page of notes that the answer was on, but not the actual answer (very frustrating at times). I am good at my job and enjoy my co-workers immensely. Internet lingo annoys me, why should one be allowed to distort the English language just because it’s a new communication forum? I hate Dubya and am a registered democrat. I like going to concerts. To me, burping is an art form. I believe in white lies, sportsmanship, and politeness, using your turn signals, the speed limit on city streets, opening doors for people, smiling at strangers, and having a happy outlook on life. I play tetris on my gameboy advance for hours at a time. I enjoy fast food, Coor’s Light, Fat Tire and celebrating 4/20. I can tell you all the ingredients in Taco Bell food as I worked there for 3 years. Every morning I drink 2 cups of coffee and sing in the shower and in my car on the way to work. I miss the Beast (those of you privileged to ride in her should miss her too). I hate the show My Super Sweet 16; it teaches children all over the United States that they can have anything they want without earning it and that responsibility and respect are outdated personality traits (ready for a generation with no work ethic folks?) Cooking is fun when you have to budget (hint to mom, I want a spice rack!) I like analogies and the band HIM. I want to go to Europe and learn to snowboard. Family and friends are the bloodline for a healthy life.Cheers!
