I'm still new to the Ormond/Daytona area and am looking to make new friends.
I'm NOT big on 50's music and have yet to develop an appreciation for big band, jazz, and most classic rock. Hardcore heavy metal is the opposite of what inspires me and count me out for rap that's really high in anger and really low in rhythem. That aside, I love it all, but can't always separate music from movement. When i hear a love song(Lionel Richie,Air supply,Mark Anthony,Gypsy Kings, and all country ballads),I visualize soft and flowing complementay moves. If the song is hip-hop(Shakira, Beyonce, harder urban beats),I'm dancing or scheming sharp, bold, rythmic moves. If I hear salsa or merengue,(Willy Chirnio,Celia Cruz,4:40),then visualizing and scheming are history! These beats take over my feet, hips, composure and no man, woman, child, or dog in sight is safe from becoming my dance partner. So if you don't want to dance but are hearing maracas, better run and chances are I'll be too busy bouncing off the walls to catch you. If you stay then rest assured that when the music stops, I'll regain composure and won't complain about the heel marks on my toe.
Science Fiction, horror, action, and movies containing graphic violence ARE NOT my thing. I like comedies (the mask), dramas (in love and war moved me), thrillers (the others), and twisted psychological flicks that explore the unknown(the skeleton key) or unconventional(the secretary). Jim Carrey's comedy always makes me laugh. He is such a talented comedian. Stick to comedy, Jim!!!
Don't watch TV, but watch DVDS sometimes. I own the entire collection of SpongeBob, Simpsons, and Southpark.
I admit to buying cliff notes for required reading. I've probably read less than three fiction books my whole life and one of them was to earn a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut back in elementary school...it's just not my thing. I do read alot, but it's usually books or magazines about business, psychology, real estate, personal growth, culture, vegetarian cooking, or comics. I love the far side!
Since humans are all imperfect and being a hero has some undertone of infallibility, I can’t say I’ve ever held anyone to that standard. That said, what could come closer to a hero than someone who goes out of his or her way for the good of another without expecting or even wanting a single thing in return other than the wellbeing of the subject he or she is helping? Back in the North Georgia Mountains where I moved from, there is a severe overpopulation of dogs. It is not uncommon, on a daily basis, to see dogs roaming the side of the highway or their carcasses on the side of the road. Busy with their own problems, most people drive by. Then, there are the heroes.Although I no longer live in the mountains of North Georgia, it was a privilege to have met and worked with individuals such as Kay Kurbow, Jan Eaton, Mary Swanson, and others who so generously give so much of themselves to help neglected and abused animals.People like them take compassion on god’s creatures not to gain money, favors, promotions, or even the recognition and appreciation of a society that doesn’t share their respect for life. They do so, because they are beautiful people and it is because of people like them that I continue to believe in the good of humanity.
