I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a Third Year Osteopathic Medical Student. For more information you can look around my profile, message me, befriend me or visit my somewhat dated Personal Website .
I was born in Bremerton, WA and I'm an alumnus of Bremerton High School in Washington State . I received a Naval ROTC scholarship and subsequently attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. In May of 2000 I received a BA in Biology (Animal Physiology) and an Officer's commission. After five years of worldwide service to include two Middle East deployments and Pre-Commissioning Duty on USS RAINIER and USS MOMSEN , I resigned my Lieutenant's (O-3) commission to attend Western University of Health Sciences on a Navy Health Professions scholarship. I will graduate in 2009 as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
I don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but I'm thinking about becoming a Flight Surgeon and deploying with a Marine Helicopter Medevac squadron. The flipside is Undersea Medicine and deploying with SPECOPS or EOD people, then returning to comoplete a Family Practice Residency with an OB Fellowship. What I do when I get back might change, though, as General Surgery and Anesthesia are interesting. Somewhere in here I'm opening an Adult Family Home in which my Mom and others can live when she gets older.
When I retire I intend to work in a little hospital or ER somewhere, teach at the new Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, WA, and own my own SCUBA diving shop.
Time is very important to me. I schedule my time not to devalue the importance of my friendships, but to ensure that my friends get the time that they deserve.
Grammar and English are important to me--I believe that words have specific and concise meanings, and communication is easier when people use their language to its full extent. I didn't go to an Ivy League college to learn English only to not use it properly.
I miss my Girlfriend very much, and wish that long distance relationships weren't the story of my life.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'm open to meeting just about anyone, time and academics permitting. I'm especially interested in re-connecting with old high school, college and Navy colleagues. If you're one of them, reach out and say "Hi!"

Furthermore, I'd like everyone to meet my Girlfriend Stacy (pictured at right), who has been my 'special person' since 30MAR07. I'm ecstatic to have my Stacy!

Ten new lifesavers...

Last Sunday, I left my house at 0545 and took the 1.5 hr drive to Seattle. Why would one take God's Day of Rest and instead of go to church, use the day to take care of an errand? I did it to co-tea...

Go to work in your pajamas...

This morning I went to the hospital in scrubs. (Don’t worry, they were mine, and despite what the Clinical Education manual says, my preceptor told me to, so I’m in the right). I am wear...

I’m sure that people have heard that "with privilege comes responsibility," and I cannot agree more. It’s why the Commanding Officer of a ship is given his/her own sedan to use when the s...
