Okay, maybe not to my world...just this "myspace" page, but you're welcome anyway! :-) This is strange...trying to put down in writing what I'm all about!
Here goes...I'm gay. Never really embraced the stereotype "gay" lifestyle, but my sexuality is undoubtedly a big part of what makes me who I am. I live with my partner. We've been together for twenty years now. We're mainly non-scene...although it can occasionally be fun in the right company!
I love rock music. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Suzi Quatro fan!
A friend of mine once said "Derek and Suzi Quatro, now there's a marriage that will never end!". He wasn't wrong. I've been following Suzi since I was 13 years old. Over thirty years later I'm still seriously hooked! What can I say. She's the best!
Another of my favourite bands is Texas. Sharleen Spiteri...what a voice!
I used to play bass guitar in a rock band myself once upon a time. We got together in the local church hall every Sunday afternoon for years. Although we only ever played three gigs in that whole time, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
I spent a lot of time writing and recording songs in those days.
That's all in the dim and distant past, but I do still enjoy writing, I still have my guitars, four and six strings, and I play "unplugged" to the bedroom wall now and again!
I love animals, especially dogs. Border Collies and German Shepherd types are my favourites. But I'm a pushover for most of 'em! :-)
