If you can dance like the above video we should know each other. All kinds of individuals but mostly people who are passionate about something...so don't be shy.
I know ya'll ain't gonna read all this so I am working on minimizing it but... I'm an opinionated lady that knows what she wants and likes. My recent hunger has been for anything that will inspire my body to sway and undulate in delightful ways found in upper tempos. I've been a feign for booty rollers lately and slower cuts that are heavy in swinging and bouncy basslines. Most importantly I am drawn to songs that stimulate energy points in my body. So...I NEED TO FEEL IT AND I WANT TO DANCE, MEDITATE ON ELATION, or its on some obscure noises. I really don't care if music is considered "underground" like I when I was younger. Sure I'm drawn to sounds that are new to me and that I don't hear everyday but the term "underground" is highly overused and frankly has almost lost its meaning with the help of modern technology.Let me count the genres/styles so you get the idea:Hip-hoP=I usually am drawn to artists that have a good verbal ride over the beat coupled with a message worth presenting and/or clever lyrics are sought after but doesn't need to be serious, layered instead of minimal production. Massive Mondays!!! I like beats that are more jazz influenced or on some neo or experimental cus a genre can't progress if there aren't new elements being introduced, but sometimes I just need a good classic banger that will make my head fall off. Miami Booty Bass;doondudadoondoondoon haaaay! Jazz older new orleans parade style, (not too many flute soloists-only bobby humphrey, I've found enjoyable) some highly improvised abstract stuff is overstimulating after about 2 minutes, Soul-Neo. Female funk vocalists with catchy lyrics and lots of percussion gotta have some catchy hooks. Check out some of the ladies in my friends list. ElectroniC-broken beat, house (soulful, latin, afro, vocal, disco, deep, funky, electro, ghetto tech, UK garage(i don't care if snotty people say its like 6 years ago) lots of layers and peripheral sounds(I dislike a commercial sound that lacks sensitivity, remixes that can't put the vocals down over the beat correctly and I HATE PROG ew) D&B/jungle-intelligent, ragga, 2-step, stuff that came out in the mid to later 90's, remarc, ltj bukem, dj marky got me hooked on the genre but even going back to dub like mad professor or some sly and robbie helped me get into it. Lots of deep rolling basslines perfect for SPEAKER SQUATING are a must! Latin, salsa, merengue, cha-cha, pachanga, cumbia. Lots of organic drumming found in field recordings and more contemporary groups, etc. Exotica and older like Martin Denny. Soca: :REGGAE- dancehall-smoky throated vocalists, jah loving lyrics as well as all that badbwoy talk- goofy lyrics just come with the territory sometimes: Reggae was the second style of music that really touched me when I was young. I immediately felt something was different about its culture when the lyricists spoke of Jehovah or Jah and praise/love music just taps into my own piece of where I came from (don't try to guess my theological belief from this if your curious ask),roots, DUB, reggaeton-El General started it for me, but there are a lot of new artists that really don't pull off a good lyrical rhythmic ride in spanish, why i don't know because its easier to rhyme with than english. i like pitbull's style in spanish but not always in english. AfricaN JU-JU, when i listen to king sunny ade my headphones take me away to beautiful places where people aren't in such a damn hurry, no fucking deadlines or caffeine rushes just living in sunshine and sipping something fruity, high-life, afro-beat- fela/femi, etc. Lots of International fusions. Mid-eastern stuff with tablas and fem vox in (ragas?) I luv bollywood. RocK-all that indie shit from 92-99,Brit, poppy, and prog, punk, heavy stuff that doesn't try to force you to the dark side or anything that will make me feel like i've been abused.Electro-clash, 80's, new wave, glam, Bluegrass, rockabilly and older country (like Hank Williams)...CLASSICAL- I've played the violin for 16 years so I'm in love with Mozart violin concertos, Verdi, Paganini, Delibes. I pretty much abhore adult contemporary, SMOOTH jazz thats played in american-asian dining or department stores, newer country, and new age like enya. More to come when I have time.
ITS TIME YOU REALIZED ALL HUMAN APPETITES ARE DEGRADING WITH THE EXCEPTION OF LUST! Aaahhhrr.
