I'm (June 9, 1954) a Professor of Physics and Director of the Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy at Maharishi University of Management, and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace.
In 1992, I was honored with a Kilby International Award for my work in particle physics leading to the development of supersymmetric grand unified field theories, for my innovative applications of advanced principles from control systems theory and optimization theory to digital sound reproduction, and for my relentless pursuit of the understanding of human consciousness [1].
I attribute my unusual career path from physicist to spokesman for global human concerns to my practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique and to my studies with the founder of the technique, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi [2]. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I was a three-time candidate for President of the United States. I was married to Margaret Cowhig of Vancouver, British Columbia in the 1980s, but the marriage ended in divorce, without children.
