I love music-going to concerts. I keep saying I am going to make some CDs of the soundtrack of my life but all I find myself doing is making lists of what songs to add. Everyday the list gets longer! All my life there has been music playing in the background. So many of my memories I relate to by what music I was hearing. My favorite bands are +LIVE+, Collective Soul, and Counting Crows. I also love giraffes. When I was three, my parents took me to the zoo and when I saw the giraffes, I yelled to my mom "Giraffes" but pronounced it 'your ass'. I have quite the collection and have one of the figurines tattooed on my ankle. In my 34 years, I never lost a loved one until this past year(lost my grandmother and my aunt to cancer within 2 months of each other) and it has taught me such a lesson. Each day is a blessing and I can't let a day go by without trying to live it to the fullest. I have finally learned to accept that you can't change people but must love them for who and what they are. In order to truly do that though, you have to love and accept yourself first-good hair days, bad hair days, all the gory details that make us who we are. I hope I am as good a mom to my girls as my grandmother was to her family and can only hope to be half the amazing person that she was. I am a very open person and try to teach my girls to live the same way-to love and be the best people they can be. We give them wings to fly and some day they will soar!
