Welcome to the High School of Music and Art Class of 1979 Myspace page, we share a very unique and loving bond for one another , still some twenty some years later; to this day we still have MAD love. Not many High school classes share this type of bond, and I personally would not trade it for anything in the world, Music and Art Class of 1979 was the best year of our lives.

From Pine Grove to Carnegie Hall we did it and still are kicking tail. We now are business owners, musicians, managers, teachers, doctors, lawyers, event planners, ministers, record label executives, struggling artist and millionaires.

Brief History about the school, Music and Art was named after the singing mayor Fiorello who brought honesty public parks and housing to the city of New York. The school was founded in 1936 when the first group of 250 students were admitted on Feb 1 and the classes grew from there.

The Gothic architecture of the school was profound and resembled a castle that is why were called the Castle on the hill. The school started recruiting talented students to complete their high school education and preparation for college while developing our musical special abilities through art and or music. Between 1953 and 1954 they the school modernized the sound proof rooms however by the time we got to the school in the seventies the sound proofing was no more.

Words of Inspiration and Motivation

Don't be too hard on yourself. Sometimes those things you desire the most may take longer to achieve. It takes longer to make a Rolls Royce than a bicycle. Look at the patience of God with Israel. He knew they were but flesh. He took many years to even train their leader, Moses. You are not an exception. Allow yourself time to change! That's the secret of champions. From Rev Run

According to this scripture one must have "the fear of the Lord" to attain knowledge. Since this is true, we need to know what it means to "fear the Lord," as most of us desire to attain knowledge. In this verse, the "fear of the Lord" actually means "to be alarmed due to what could happen, if we disrespect or show lack of reverence to the Lord's Words." A good example of this would be if a young person respects the words of his father, he will heed those words and not disobey, as he knows the consequence of doing wrong will bring the father's disfavor and punishment. This same thing applies to our heavenly Father. If we really respect and believe the Words of God we will not disobey them, as we know there will be a penalty for doing so. We resist sinning as we fear the consequences.
