I started singing very early in my childhood. I used to lock myself in bathroom with a songbook and sang it through. My family wasn't really happy about it, 'cause we had only one bathroom :)I also studied music in music class and sang in choir many years. My 'awakening' to jazz music happened also quite early. I was into old Hollywood-films and found jazz from there. My singing career started in a girl group called Belaboris. With Belaboris I also did my first recording (single 'Rakkauden jälkeen', POKO records, -84). Jazz came few years later. I've won 'the best Finnish jazz band'-contest with Pekka Toivanen Quartet in -87 and next year we became second in Karlovy Vary's jazz band-contest in Czechoslovakia. I also co-worked with The Bullworkers and visited in several TV-shows and bands.90's brought me two big things to my life; first my son and second my big love The Fabulettes (hear the song from our EP!). We put up few famous clubs in Helsinki and made lots of gigs together.I also made a solo-CD (Onnellinen, TEXICALLI records, -97) and had many interesting projects with different talented Finnish musicians. The dearest projects have been my Nina Simone-project with Wade Mikkola Trio and Abba-project few years ago.At the moment I need gigs. We're back with The Fabulettes, at least when the offer is good enough ;)
