Where I'm from...Well, I grew up in Huntington, West Virginia. I lived there for 19 years then moved to Morgantown, WV and then Wheeling, WV. I have also lived in Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia and currently live in New York.
My family...I am the oldest of five children and I love my family very much! I am married to my best friend and soul mate. I also have two wonderful step-boys.
My passions...I am currently working on my Master's degree in Clinical Counseling with a focus in Christian Counseling. I am on the board for AFSP: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and I am very passionate about this cause. To learn more go to:

I have written for a fitness magazine and I am now currently working on a book that I hope to publish when I complete my Masters degree. It is my "baby" so, I am reluctant to unveil its purpose. I did however get the nerve to share my work with one of my professor's and her comments gave me the drive to continue with this piece. I hope to write many more manuscripts after this book is complete.
If it wasn't for the validation of my professor and my husband about my writing...I would lack total confidence in transferring ideas from my brain to paper. There is something that feels so vulnerable and naked about letting someone else see the words you have written. I think you always question whether the text on the page is acceptable until you get an "A" from someone else.
Another person has given me bravery and inspiration while standing in front of the firing squad of readers and that is Mary Pipher in her book, "Writing to Change the World." It is a truly inspiring book. Every time I pick it up, I can't wait to begin writing! Everyone has a story or a desire to make a difference! What is your story? How would you like to make a differnce?
May God Bless you in whatever you decide to do! LOVE, Tonya

Jesus

Matthew 5 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor[g] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,[h] 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren[i] only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors[j] do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
