I do things on the television. Terrible things.

Poorly updated, semi-poorly-written meanderings can be found at: The Obligatory . Because it's expected of me.
And now ... some declarative statements about me:
I grew up in New England and went to college in Boston. Every autumn, I am compelled to return for foliage, cold weather, hot cider, and Dunkin' Donuts. It is not a choice.
I live in Los Angeles. I love everything about the Western States and Pacific Coast except for Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Unfortunately, I work in television ... and ENJOY working in television. So, for the time being, I am trapped.
I obsessively add to my music collection and still buy CDs, even when I can't afford them.
I consider reading long histories of colonial America or biographies of past Presidents to be an enjoyable experience.
I subscribe to two magazines: National Geographic and Mental Floss.
I have hiked up the tallest waterfall in North America and dunked my head in the river, not 50 feet away from the cliffside.
I think poetry is fascinating, particularly Billy Collins and Charles Simic.
I play a mean mediocre rhythm guitar. I recently bought a nylon acoustic/electric, and can now play a slightly less mediocre fingerpicked guitar.
I don't consider video games to be toys, and play them frequently. But I do prefer the tedious, time-consuming ones, like Civilization, Advance Wars DS, and Splinter Cell. Mario Kart DS is also pretty amazing. And the New Super Mario Brothers. And hell, can't forget Smash Brothers. OK, I play a lot of video games.
In boring meetings, I doodle fictional continents.
I think the most amazing thing I've ever seen was a simultaneous sunset / moonrise at the Grand Canyon.
In college, I ran a sketch comedy troupe for three and a half years. That experience alone was worth the crippling student loan debts I have.
On my first ever paid vacation, I drove by myself to Oregon to camp, hike, explore cities and abandoned highways, visit microbreweries, and see "Twelfth Night" at a Shakespeare Festival.
I dig dark chocolate, dry wine, smoked porters, and rye bread toast.
I am helping to revive the golden age of live television with "Attack of the Show."
