i started writing and recording songs in about 1999. a year later i formed a band called BANG AND NO PRETTY. this quickly turned into a covers band called AFTERTHOUGHT and then a bedroom recording project called MAIL ORDER BRIDGES. shortly after that i wrote some songs with BETH ATKINSON before moving to leeds in 2002.
me and john perry started LEO TOUT and recorded the mini-album "Yes Please To Saturday." the band went through several different incarnations before sadly disintegrating. john perry formed WALLABY WILLINGTON as well as continuing his own solo stuff .
i started recording my own songs with slightly more attention than i had given them before and recorded the albums "The Encounter With The Lion Behind The Glass" and "The Swedish Decapitation Scene" as well as an album written in 24 hours which had something to do with minnie ripperton. i also co-wrote two concept albums (of sorts): one about the ocean under the name SCARED BY BEARS with HELEN and one about ice-cream, called "Keep It Real Chumps", with NATHAN . around this time john perry and i started to collaborate again under the name THE WEDNESDAY CLUB .
next i played in THE HOSPITAL BOMBERS with NIR GRAHAM , HARRY AMFAD and OLI SAMSA and briefly played the drums in a one-off gig with nir and STEVE as a garage rock band called METOOMTAM! after that i started playing the bass in ANDERSON CONGRESS with JAKE SINETOS , AMYAS VARCOE and LUCY CANTER before jake moved back to america, and i also started the spontaneous pop music project THE WHAT I WANTED TO DO'S with TOM DREW as well as starting to play bass for THE MANHATTAN LOVE SUICIDES .i compiled my solo recordings from 2006, its called "Florentino Floro." it isnt very consistent. I have just finished my latest solo album "The Dolphin Hotel" and an 'experimental' EP with Matthew Leach as ART FUCK & DEATH SHIT . I am now concentrating on recording new Manhattan Love Suicides material, writing a concept album with John Perry and Max for The Wednesday Club, me and Matt are about to start the next Art Fuck & Death Shit EP, and i am helping IAN COCKBURN record his songs for his solo project.stuff that i have done recently:THE DOLPHIN HOTEL
