I'd like to meet smart people who watch crime shows on TV or read detective novels. I need help with my cases and I think my brother-in-law, Jake, is getting tired of being my mentor. It would probably help if my new friends have a sense of humor. For whatever reason, some funny stuff seems to happen to me from time to time. But, it's also very dangerous out there and I can use all the help I can get. It would be nice to meet a couple of hotties, too.

Win a Modeling Contract
May is Trivia Month at www.dufusdetective.com . The winner of our trivia contest will be cast in an upcoming issue of The Dufus Detective. The game was developed mainly for our MySpace friends, though it is open to the public. There are 31 questions. During the month of May we will send out a MySpace Bulletin each day, giving a hint to one question per day.
You are allowed to send in one guess per day. I’ll use my “Best Friends†section to track the leaders throughout the contest, updating as often as possible.
Yes, there is a Modeling Contract. Yes, you do get paid. No, it’s not a lot of money, but it is a lot of fun. It’s also a lot of exposure. In March, our second full month of operation, we had over 20,000 hits on the site. While Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is our #1 Region for subscribers, Southern California is #2. That’s because our writer, RJ McDonnell (who had several scripts produced on TV) moved here from SoCal just over a year ago. So, getting discovered is not out of the question.

Trivia Contest Rules
1. To submit an entry, copy and past an entry form into a MySpace message to The Dufus Detective, or into the Contact Us section of the web site. Fill in as many answers as you can, and hit Send.
2. You may submit one entry per day.
3. Void where prohibited.
4. The winner must sign a modeling contract prior to appearance, assigning all copyrights to www.dufusdetective.com and its proprietor.
5. The winner will be paid a nominal fee for the appearance.
6. The winner will be responsible for transportation to and from the shoot, which will be done in Northeastern PA.
7. In case of a tie the following tie-breakers will be in effect: a) preferences will be given if you are on the free subscriber list for the site; b) preference to the first correct top entry; c) we may elect to cast more than one winner based on casting needs.
8. Results of the contest will be announced in the first week of June.
9. We reserve the right to amend the rules in the interest of fairness if someone circumvents the spirit of the contest.
10. We may be interested in using you a model even if you don’t win if we feel your look is a good fit for a character in an upcoming issue. Let us know after the final trivia question if you would like to be considered for a role if you don’t win the contest. If you don’t want us to assess your look based on your profile pic, let us know and we will go by the first pic in your “My Pics†section.
