Lusky Dj

About Me

Lusky dj was born in Rome in a clinic next to the Thermal Baths of Caracalla. Chance made the notes of the Aida play in the moment she was born, in that hot afternoon of August, as to seal her tight bond with music in its every form right from the very beginning. Her father, a trumpet player, approached her to music since the first years of her life and by the time she was a teenager she started loving electronic music. In that time, her friends changed her given name into "Lusky", nickname that after a few years would change into "Lusky dj" for the great love she developed for music in general and for electronic music in particular. This overpowering passion led her behind the first decks when she was 15 years old, in a time when female presence was something rare indeed. She spend a lot of years playing in many clubs under the guide of the “queen of roman nitelife” Annachiara. Meeting Federico & Francesco Assenza (D.L.O. & Unpolite Records), marked the turning point in Lusky’s career: from that day, she became one of the very few women regularly deejaying at the most famous clubs in Rome and in Italy. Lusky & Francesco Assenza pumped an evolution of minimal techno mixed with deep funk & tech house and with their singular experiences matured in very different clubs. Their partnership create the big and innovative gay party in Rome with the management Francesco’s brother Federico : The “Kinder Gaarden”.The list of the clubs where Lusky played in the years would be long but, just to give an idea, she is the resident dj of KINDER GAARDEN, GORGEOUS and the Venus Rising @ Goa Club, Rome’s main clubbing winter events, all flowing into the most important summer event of the Capital, where Lusky is resident dj since its first edition: GAY VILLAGE. Long as well would be the list of Italian and international dj guests she shared the decks with. Dj guest @ Phag Off (very crowded monthly underground party), @ Coq Madame; she also attended many international electronic music festivals and events like Electrode, Fe/Male and Lady Party, among the others. In 2004 Lusky dj jumps on Radio Londra’s consolle, Rome’s historical club, the legendary cradle of the capital’s new music trends for over fifteen years. Her unmistakable style blends any kind of genre, becoming one explosive mix burning any dancefloor: the power and the energy generated twist with her own fun and the public’s. She was resident dj at Fiera di Roma for New Year’s Eve in 2004, “Circus”, and in 2005 “Amore”, with more than 25.000 people and international guests from all over the world. Lusky dj is also proudly present at every Gay Pride street parade in Rome since years, involving and amusing thousands of participants. Winter 2007 starts the production in partnership with one of the most influential and important Italian electronic producer. You can find her articles on electronic music in the monthly magazine “Mucchio Selvaggio” under section “Soundlab”.
