Matthew Williams, Photographer Born Roachford, Essex 1974Introduced to the music of Hendrix & Zeppelin at age 11 by music aficionado Mark Encina. Tastes developed and nurtured through teens.Discovered photography age 19, identified natural ability to frame an image.Studied Documentary Photography 1995 - 1998, graduated middle of class.November 1999; Decision to combine addictions.2000 - 2003 Sporadically assisted premier music photographer Steve Gullick, learnt significantly more carrying camera laden bags than three years classroom bound at college.Winter 2000 landed freelance work with Metal Hammer; Crowning moments include shooting 45 bands during 15 consecutive nights at the Underworld, chaos filled tour with Tribute To Nothing/This Girl, Logan Madder giving me that all encompassing decisive moment during their first European gig.Other Printed press includes: Careless Talk Costs Lives, Kerrang, Rock Sound, LogoSummer 2002 awarded photographer in residence status by John Clarkson for his outstanding online monthly www.pennyblackmusic.comApril 2003 Exhibition based around work on the Aldershot Music Scene 1999 - 2003 held at West End Centre venue.Jan-Dec 2004 Extensive work with 'Musical Vandalism' projects; Strobe 45, Push to Fire
