Growing up in the Chi and having a mother with a new york background the undisputed Go Getta took on a chi-town swagger with a east coast swing. Loving the lyrical content of Hip-Hop since the age of 15, inspired a young Go Getta to write and create many songs. With such influences as Mc-Lyte, Jay-Z, Nas and many more, I always knew that I would be a lyracist.Having started a rap duo Rough and Mellow in 1995 myself and best friend which is now my manager Jamye Paul told me I think that you should become a solo artist. She told me there's something about you, you have an intense stage presence and a swagger about yourself that is unstoppable. Becoming a solo aritist in 1998 I continued to write and perform at many different venues. Performing in front of many top name artist at the Soul Train Music Awards in 1998, I received good feedback I knew that the music industry is where I wanted to be.Although the name Go Getta has been used by many artist, I feel that this name best suits me because I am just that a GO GETTA! Working hard to get what I want and going after it at full speed allows me to take the name and run with it.
In 2007, I won a contest against 20 other artist in chicago and had the oppurtunity to open up for One Chance a hot new R&B group managed by Usher.The end doesn't stop there the next time you see Go Getta, hopefully someone will be opening up for me.
