I am here for Friends

About Me

The year 2007 changed me forever. I'm a completely different person. If you think you know about me now, you're probably wrong. So that means we really need to hang out and catch up! No matter how busy I am, I always find time for friends! SO CALL ME! If you don't have my current cell phone number (changed in October 2007), send me a message! If I know you well enough, I'll tell you what the number is! That goes for my AIM screen name as well :-D
******************** ALWAYS REMEMBER ********************

THINGS I LIKE/LOVE ABOUT PEOPLE ...
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER ...
- When someone gives and receives love equally or more than the other person
- When someone stands up for anyone
- When someone notices there is something wrong
- When someone asks about the day and actually cares
- When someone calls/texts just to say hello
- When someone says, "We need to hang out and catch up!", and then actually does it
- When a guy who doesn't even know a girl buys her a drink and never tries to hit on her
- When someone doesn't care TOO much about what others think
- When someone shows love to babies, little kids, old people, and animals
- When someone goes for what they want with ambition and respect
- When someone doesn't let the everyday things get them down or make them bitter
- Someone who lets others just be themselves
- Someone who make others feel welcome in any situation
- Someone who can carry on at least a semi-interesting conversation
- Someone who does many nice things because they want to, not because they're asked to and/or expecting credit for it
- Someone who is willing to go the extra mile in any situation
- Someone who is always there for the people they truly care about
- Someone who makes plans and actually sticks to them
- Someone who isn't constantly "too busy" to get ahold of
- Someone who always treats people like they matter
THINGS I DISLIKE/HATE ABOUT PEOPLE ...
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER ...
- When someone calls Chicago "Chi-town"
- When someone argues without making any valid points
- When someone chews with mouth open and lips smacking
- When people use my pillows and/or move stuff around on my bed
- When any guy that isn't a girl's boyfriend eye-fucks her
- When guys can't take the hint and move on
- When girls act slutty to get attention (or even at all)
- Control freaks
- Drama queens/kings
- Obsessions with celebrities
- When a guy calls a girl a bitch, especially his gf or ex-gf
- When anyone seriously tells someone "shut up" or "fuck you"
- Forwards and/or chain letters
- WhEn sOmEonE tYpEs LiKe tHiS
- When normal people over the age of 14 can't spell
- When someone doesn't call back
- When someone calls and never leaves a voicemail
- When normal people are not at all aware of their surroundings ... i.e., walking extremely slowly, stopping in the middle of an aisle, being obnoxiously loud while sober even when they're getting looks from people, taking forever to count out change, etc.

I'd like to meet:

Dr. Cox: "No matter where you go in life, always keep an eye out for The Tackling Alzheimer's Patient."
JD: "What's that supposed to mean?"
Patient: *flying through air* "WHO AM I?!" *tackles*
--Scrubs

"Trust the instinct to the end, though you can render no reason. None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

"One who is injured ought not to return the injury, for on no account can it be right to do an injustice; and it is not right to return an injury, or to do evil to any man, however much we have suffered from him."
--Socrates

"The highest degree of meekness consists in seeing, serving, honoring, and treating amiably, on occasion, those who are not to our taste, and who show themselves unfriendly, ungrateful, and troublesome to us."
-- St. Francis de Sales

"Life is about who you love and who you hurt. It's about who you make happy or unhappy purposefully. It's about keeping or betraying trust. It's about friendship used as a sanctity or a weapon. It's about what you say and mean, maybe hurtful and maybe heartening. About starting rumors or contributing to petty gossip. It's about what judgments you pass and why. And who your judgments are spread to. It's about who you've ignored with full control and intention. It's about jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge. It's about carrying inner hate and love, letting it grow, and spreading it. But most of all, it's about using your life to touch or poison other people's heart in such a way that could have never occurred alone. Only you choose the way those hearts are affected, and those choices are what life's really about."

Music:

Other then Broadway musicals? ... Goo Goo Dolls, Nickelback, All-American Rejects, Three Days Grace, My Chemical Romance, Aerosmith, Evanescence, The Fray, Lifehouse, No Doubt, Lonestar, Rascal Flatts, Journey, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Shania Twain, and Jimmy Wayne.

And I'll only listen to music that I can understand the words to, otherwise it's pretty much pointless to me. If I really like the music and can't understand it, I'll look the lyrics up!

Movies:

The Notebook, Life Is Beautiful, Love Actually, Kate and Leopold, Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama, Patch Adams, and Conversations with God. I love anything with Reese Witherspoon or Robin Williams in it, and pretty much anything from Disney and Pixar.

Television:

Scrubs, Gilmore Girls, and Supernatural.

Books:

Pretty much anything that can be related to the subject of psychology, philosophy, and poetry :)

I LOVE C.S. LEWIS! But not The Chronicles of Narnia. Those don't really interest me. I love his books on Christianity. One of the most intelligent authors ever, but writes the British way, so I usually have to re-read a couple of times over. It's well worth it, though!

I also like Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Marie Claire, Complete Woman, Psychology Today, and Psychologies magazines.

Heroes:

Beauty may attract attention and adoration from strangers, but it doesn't guarantee anyone love or happiness. After being bombarded with images and ideas of what a woman should be, a strong woman is one who can look at herself in the mirror and say, "I prefer this". And if physical appearance is what we women idealize the most, it'll undermine our chances for serious, enduring, historic acheivement. We've got to remember (and, if need be, rearrange) our priorities here. Our gray matter has far greater staying power than our thighs ever will; it has the capacity to endow us - and the world - with joy, enlightenment, and influence well into our old age. So why focus so much on shaping our bodies when we can shape history?

My Blog

I have a REAL MAN :)

1.) A REAL MAN respects his mother and places his family first.2.) A REAL MAN raises his kids, not JUST out of pocket either.3.) A REAL MAN supports his woman to develop herself.4.) A REAL MAN doesn't...
