Iam not going to ramble about how I grew up or any of that sort, but, what I will tell you is what I and many others would call a miracle. My name is Shawnna Aka Shae but in the music business I go by the name of Lady Invincible. The name totally gives it away but still it fits me well as others say and I agree as well. You hear most rappers these days spittin bout some crazy shit, knockin "bitches up", getting high, fuckin "hos" all that type shit. For real the music these days has been twisted in so many different ways. Some music these days is alright but many others are just about what I listed above. That's the crazy shit. The real rap for those who listen was truely released back in the day. They speak about life, their life and how it could influence us today. Thats what Iam about. Many of you do not know me or what my group is about. One word to describe us would be reality. It's deep, motivating, and real. We're not all about "Nigga I fucked yo girl, I smoked a fat sack etc etc" These days music is all about dissin. That ain't rap. We in this shit together. When I was around the age of 6 or 7 I began singing. I began going to small diners and singing with a karaoke with a small amount of customers. I then began joining contests and more customers starting coming. The more I sang the more the customers would come. Sooner than later, the whole diner was packed, so packed we began having to charge for admission. For 1 or 2 years I kept singing.. Later the diner hired a band to play with me. I lived a somewhat sheltered live until the age of 10. At 10 I began dope dealing and sooner or later began using. As many may have heard Compton is not the best place for one so young to grow up. I kept singing tho. At the age of 12 I learned I had a gift of rhyme. That gift of rhyme then led me to freestyling. Freestyling then led me to battles. I used to joke around with my homies freestyling and battling them. Later the school I attended began having competitions. At first I was afraid to flow in front of a crowded room. At this age my thoughts were " Iam a singer, not a freestyler, this is totally not mah game." Being encouraged I stepped out of my fear and into the light. I began battling at not only the school I was attending but schools all over Compton, California. Still using and dealing dope I began gang banging. Again at that age I was kicked to the streets by my family. I chose drugs and dealing over them considering I wasn't in the right mind at that age. I was about being a kid, getting into trouble and being cool. The gang I was jumped into became my family. They had my back, encouraged me, and did all the things a family do. Later, at 13 or 14 I began writing songs. Rapping and singing in the genre of rap and r&b. I began self recording vocals. I realized that I actually had a gift. So much experience and hatred in life came naturally in lyrics. I'd sit and write 4 to 6 hours a day writing 12 to 13 songs a day. Everything took it's place. I never had to think about the beats or the lyrics. I rarely ever thought when I was writing. At the age of 16 I fled to Las Vegas, Nevada for work. Many hotels and casinos wanted to use me onstage. I began working at a casino called Boardwalk( the one where the Prince tribute performs) I started as a dancer for the prince tribute and gradually worked my way up (taking 6 months) to actually have my own show called Santone. I performed in Las Vegas for about 6 months and returned to california for a signing for a record deal. I worked with a company called WorldWide Incident Productions mixing beats and writing lyrics. I didn't see any room for advancement, I kinda switched over and the crew split. I am now managing a production company called D0min4ti0n Productionz and the sister company called Solo Productions. working with two of the most down to earth, skilled, and dedicated producers I have met, yet. I am currently adapting to a big change. Iam about 7 months pregnant now.. expecting a baby girl in late October early November. Due date had been set November 1,2008 but when the little one decides to come, I doubt anyone can stop her. I have a few mix tapes to send in. Slowly but surely Iam gonna make it. Iam almost there.
