How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace editor . 'High School Royalty' is a great opener, that's for certain. It's a song that announces FTR as ones to watch, and with enthusiasm and energy galore, it's a very good start here. With the excellent 'Can't You See' showing that their energy can be harnassed into slower songs as well, it's all positive signs here, further enhanced by the similarly impressive 'Upgrade'. 'Good Bye To You' then goes on to throw more weight behind the notion that they could be on to something, and they could make waves in and around Leicester. There's potential here, and where they go next will be interesting. "Demos Reviewed
(For The Record)....."played a blinder with the most fluent complete set I have seen thus far. Their timing was perfection itself. A confident and talented front-man sailed though an impressive performance and the drummer, well, wow!! excellent!" - BBC Leicester
(For The Record) ...."The next big thing in Leicester" - Leicester Sound
Catchy rhythms, strong tempos and thrusting beats ensure that most people are going to warm to this band. For The Record are part of a clutch of young bands who often play together and represent the cream of young indie talent in Leicester. They work well on the stage and they work their audience. This is a band that is growing stronger all the time. If they get signed within the next twelve months, no one will be surprised. Their set ended with their hit song 'High School Royalty', strong riffs, catchy lyrics and definitely a song which marks this band out from the rest." -Artsinleicestershire

Influences: Our influences vary quite a bit and makes the music more interesting cos theres lots of different stlyes going into each song. Dave writes the songs and he is influenced by heavier bands such as Lostprophets, My Chemical Romance but also artists like Paulo Nutini and (unashamedly) McFly. Ben and Poz like The Killers, Dashboard Confessional etc and Rob's really into older stuff like Eric Clapton and Van Halen as well as some newer stuff like Fall out Boy and jimmy eat world.
Sounds Like: well for the record we dont have many major influences we just make music that comes to us
