Novela was born out of boredom and necessity with the need to create the type of music that we wanted to hear but could no longer find except on old vinyls. Encompassing 50's and 60's rock, soul, country and a touch of degeneracy thrown in for good measure; the band's music and lyrics are an attempt at making social commentary on the absurdity of society and the weak state of the human condition.
Novela can best be described as an idea that was dreamt up in a lonely bedroom during the twilight years of one's life. The music is driven by a bittersweet reality of everyday existence and the ways in which people cope and form their own reality through drugs, love, and pain. That or we were just bored.
