I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I taught high school (and sometimes middle school) students math for about 6 years. Quit in '06 to start my MFA in Creative Writing, at Antioch's (in LA) low-residency program. Should complete the degree in Dec. '08. My husband (Rick) is in the Air Force and stationed in Minot, North Dakota and he's such a great guy, I live here with him despite the winters from the mind of Satan. I miss North Carolina, where most of my immediate family lives and many dear friends. I also miss the food. The East Coast practically has a monopoly on good restaurants (although we're lucky here to have 10 N Main.)

Chicken Little Comes to Minot, North Dakota

So I am afraid to touch anything.  I probably shouldn't be on Rick's computer.  I killed mine through slow torture by spilling water on it yesterday.  Not that Rick has the Midas touch....

the end (no, that’s another poem, as yet unposted)

I'm done with my second month's packet for my MFA.  YAY!  This semester is kicking my ass, in the best sense of that phrase possible.  I feel like both my reading and my writing lives a...
