About Me

Ticket touting in recent years has grown in popularity, with many fans today frequently paying over 10, and sometimes 20 times the face value to get their hands on a single ticket.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) recently rejected a ban on reselling tickets for a profit, and the government, at present, only support a ban on touting for "important national events" (the concert for Princess Diana, and the London Olympics, for example). Although the latter is obviously pleasing, something needs to be done for general music and sporting events before the problem escalates even further.

The British public are becoming the victims of what is effectively daylight robbery. Now is your chance to do something about it.

So, against touting? Sign the petition: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/tickettouts/

THE PETITION IS NOW CLOSED. THANKS TO ALL WHO SIGNED.

Note: All adds from this profile are done randomly, if I stumble across your profile, chances are I'll add you. No reason why, just because I can, I guess.

If you're going to message me with a question, read this first:

WHO IS RUNNING THIS?
Running this is just one person. I'm not famous, I'm not in a band, I'm just a music fan who is sick and tired of music concerts selling out and tickets for my favourite bands appearing on ebay almost immediately for hundreds of pounds.

WHAT'S THE POINT OF THE PETITION?
The aim of the petition is to stop touts reselling tickets for music, sporting and other events, for more than the face value. If the touts aren't able to make any profit out of it, there will be less of an incentive for them to buy the tickets in the first place, therefore meaning that the real music fans will have more of a chance of getting tickets, and not get ripped off in the meantime.

Also, at present, ticket companies (Seetickets, Ticketmaster, Tickterweb etc.) do not accept tickets back off the general public unless a concert has been cancelled. We want to make it so if it turns out you can't go to a concert, you can return the tickets to the point of purchase for a refund, therefore enabling other people to attend the concert in your place.

HOW MANY SIGNATURES DO YOU NEED?
Ideally, about 3 million, but that's not going to happen. A couple of thousand would be brilliant.

WHEN DOES THE PETITION END?
17th May 2007.

Thank you for all of your support with this so far, and if there are any more questions feel free to message me and I'll do my best to get back to you.

Message me with questions, I generally won't reply to comments
