Music:

Well, I gotta say that lately I am hung up on the soundtrack for "High Fidelity". (GREAT flick btw!) John Wesley Harding "I'm Wrong About Everything" -- ROCKS! Jack Black singing "Let's Get It On"? What could be better?! Otherwise... Huey Lewis, Elton John, Alanis, Barenaked Ladies, Crash Test Dummies, John Denver, Badly Drawn Boy, Bee Gees, Motown especially Smokie Robinson, Linda Ronstadt, the Cars, and pretty much all that 80's stuff.

Movies:

About a Boy, As Good As It Gets, Seabiscuit, It's a Wonderful Life, The Accidental Tourist, Shrek, Misery, Shawshank Redemption, more recently The Queen and Little Miss Sunshine, and some cool foreign films like My Life As A Dog and Amelie.

Television:

I gave up TV forever when Seinfeld ended.

Books:

This section will take a whole day to fill out. Should I list my own? Nahhh... That would be tacky. In short, my most recent picks have been "Choke" by Chuck Pahleknik (sp?), "All the Pretty Horses" by Cormac McCarthy and of course Stephen Ambrose's "Undaunted Courage". Something fun recently was "The Grrl Genius Guide to Life" by Cathryn Michon. The best training books are Karen Pryor's "Don't Shoot the Dog" and Jean Donaldson's "Culture Clash".

Heroes:

Merriweather Lewis, My Dad, My sister Amanda, My horse, Clifford

Cognitive Skills in Horses (Or, What Clifford Did Today)

I just told my friend Ellen a little Cliffy story. It is cold and windy up here on the hill. The horses are SO HAPPY. They weren't even voracious for their hay as I imagined they would be. I had left...

My Horse Art on eBay

I decided to draw a white horse to illustrate my Ghost Horse Poem which is on my hub. I like working with charcoal and conte so much that I sketched a buckskin as well. Commissions are great, but dra...

Science Fiction

Back in the early 90's I valiantly wrote my first novel. Ignorance is bliss, and my subsequent search for a literary agent, and cash spent on professional evaluations gleaned nothing. But overall, it ...

The Python In the Pizza Parlor

A true story, as told to me by an animal control officer who specializes in exotics. "Mr. Campbell, there's a snake in the restaurant! A big one! It's gone under the ovens and not coming out!" The ...

Another Christmas Carol

I have some short stories that are SHORT -- too short even to be Amazon shorts. But I found another way to publish them online. I will probably set up a link bar here on the blog. The first one came o...

Adventures in Puppysitting

While looking through some old files, I found a diary of a puppy I had taken in for a week while owners went on vacation. Sonic was a half border collie, half terrier. She was chocolate brown with gre...
