Laughing, talking, thinking, feeling, being. I love human interaction, people watching, learning, pop culture, reading, playing with yarn, spending time with friends and family. I am constantly amazed by the systems that we use to define reality and enjoy a good banter with my friends frequently and often. Thought is not a concrete organism or a closed system that exists unto itself. We all bring unique methods of meaning-making to every aspect of what is true and how truth is formed. We interpret knowledge based on personal histories and our own assumptions of reality.
This is the part where I could fill in the blanks with a long list of dead people or uber-celebrity types to make myself sound really interesting or intriguing. Happiness is not having all you want, but wanting all you have. I am blessed with beautiful friends and the best family. There is a reason for every encounter I have with others. Forcing things is counterproductive and tends to backfire anyway.
There is no list I can come up with of people I would like to meet, just thoughts in my head about people I wish I'd had more time with.
My Lightsaber is Blue which is associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, and truth.
Moonlight enlighten my way at twilight
from the heights of my roof I send praise then poof
I'm looking up at the night
and ask for help to get up and get it right

I try not to watch too much TV, but it is good noise to have on while I'm knitting. Hate reality TV, hate it--and no I won't like your favorite show so don't ask me to watch it with you so you can try to change my mind. I'm also not a huge fan of game shows. Love the Family Guy. Millennium. South Park. The Simpsons. Buffy, Angel, Firefly. X-Files (but not the movie so much). Sex and the City. Sopranos.
Jayne, the man they call Jayne
He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they call Jayne...
I have been slacking on my reading! The books keep piling up with all good intentions to read them, however the pile grows and grows. I think perhaps my books breed at night while I'm sleeping. Book sex. It's really creepy.
The Omnivore's Dilemma arrived. It's going to land somewhere near the top of the to read pile. I have a few stacks of books. One is books I would like to read. Another is books I will read. Yet another is books I am currently reading and will finish. I'm sure there are others as well that are not yet classified. The stacks in the bookcases are all books I have read or will never read--or at least not any time soon. I forced myself to read the Da Vinci Code and *hated* every page of it. Overall, I'd say I'm not a fan of trashy romance novels or books by Dan Brown. I recently enjoyed Freakonomics. Of course I like a good story now and again, I mostly enjoy reading put new wrinkles in my brain. Zero, the biography of a dangerous idea. Arnie and Amy Mindell. Chuck Klosterman is a absolute favorite and highly recommended. Frank Herbert's Dune--the entire series. I usually have a knitting book around to keep me inspired and busy. I like words. I like books about words and the systems of language. Books on human interactions, systems, organizations and culture. I have been facsniated by religious studies. Religion and feminism are particularly of interest as are discussions of gnostic texts. My favorite is Thunder, Perfect Mind.
Books in the Currently Reading Pile: Omnivore's Dilema, Klosterman IV, Interpreter of Maladies, Water for Elephants, Yarn Harlot, The Areas of My Expertise, Naked, Fargo Rock City, Sex and the City, One G*d Clapping, Bridge of Birds.
