E nga matawaka o te motu, tena koutou katoa. E nga iwi, e nga karangatanga, te iti me te rahi, tena koutou, kia ora koutou, tena tatou. Greetings!I'm originally from Australia but the world I first recognised was a small place north of Auckland called Paremoremo. South Seas Film school in 1993 then eights years lighting and grip experience with a sprinkle of my own short films. A turning point was deciding to not be involved with productions where violence featured as a narrative problem solving technique. My undergrad degree is in Fine Art from UoA, 2004. The work of Joseph Beuys, Allan Sekula, Lygia Clark, Marina Abramovic, Gillian Wearing, Superflex, et al, were inspirational for me artwise. Derrida, Steve James are other influential sources. My preference now is to make ethical documentaries and in social practice, facilitate empowerment of people using creative processes. Currently I'm studying a Masters of Social Work(applied) at RMIT University. Recently I have returned to my country of birth and now reside in Melbourne. Also continuing with, the production of a no budget, social justice doco that i recorded in 2004/05 in Taranaki, in post production still, editing on a G4 with Lacie HD and using FCE2, Canon XM1. the doco is looking good too... I'll be posting more pictures and video as i have time to work through my archives... ka kite ano!

Perhaps this is my interest in social sculpture...

yes its a funny equation, part of attaining those faculties of detachment that leads to happiness requires acceptance of what is. and I think sometimes to desire that detachment is to be not accepting...

"The bombing will not be televised"

This was one of the earlier works that I did in 2003. As you can clearly see the title was inspired by the song of similar title by Gil Scott-Heron "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised." At about thi...
