About Me

Public announcement:
We have decided to call it a day with our current musical ensemble, Rolling Dog. Thanks to all who have supported, clapped and cheered. It’s been great fun but now we intend to pursue different avenues. Expect us to be in touch as soon as something magical and wonderful has been created.
RD x

Rolling Dog are five young men from Portsmouth. They specialise in writing killer pop songs with hooks you could hang yourself on, Leatherface style, and a full on live performance admired by many.
They caught the attention of Fierce Panda’s Club Fandango in late 2005, which booked the band to play their first BBC 6 Music night, with headliners Boy Kill Boy, despite being the only unsigned band on the bill. In true Troy McClure style, you may remember this band from other gigs with such bands as Kasabian, Chikinki, Kubichek!, Every Move A Picture, Switches, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Fields, and many more.
Despite being unsigned, 2006 has seen Rolling Dog play a successful slot at the HiFi South Festival, play sold out London shows at The Barfly, The Borderline, The Dublin Castle and The Water Rats, AND sell out the 400 capacity Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth twice. They have enjoyed Radio airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, XFM, and Artrocker to name a few.
'Fire! Fire! Fire!' was named indie single of the week by Steve Lamacq (23/4).

Disorder:
"Part Blur part The Blood Brothers, Rolling Dog are a refreshingly interesting yet listenable band which would be as at home amongst radio friendly indie as it would edgier electro club nights."
The Fly:
"Rarely does a band accomplish so much with such passion and vigour. Rolling Dog are a true rarity - a punk/rock band you can actually dance too properly AS WELL as sing along too - Bloody fantastic."
Artrocker:
"Rolling Dog are a full-on artrock monster of slashing twin guitar punk-rock action with full dance grooves attached."
Glasswerk.co.uk:
"Indiedancecore... whatever that is exactly, it sure is entertaining. A recipe for success!"
Planet Sound
(Channel 4)
'demo of the week':
"Already championed by Lamacq and it's easy to see why, itchy and infectious. Ace!"
Metrolitemusic.co.uk:
"Perfect indie pop. Surely the start of something fantastic!"
Heathenangel.co.uk:
"Frantic and breathless stuff. The fashionable indie rock scene will lap this up."
