Once described stylistically as a cross between Marilyn Manson and Hannah Montana, 20 year old "shock-pop" singer/songwriter Happy has been a conflicted soul for as long as she can remember.
“It was traumatic to say the least,†she confesses when asked about her childhood growing up in the sleepy backwoods of East Tennessee. “I was never into hip-hop or country so I didn’t exactly fit in with any of the other kids at my school. I guess I was kind of a loner. I was an outcast, the weird girl. I was mocked by my peers for listening to rockers like David Bowie and Freddie Mercury. I used to tell kids in my first grade class that Steven Tyler was my father (We both have big mouths!). And I didn’t dress like other kids either. By the time I graduated from Carter High School in 2006 everyone thought I was a complete 'nut job.' My parents actually admitted me to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation when I was 16 and even my Shrink at the time said that I had 'issues.' I thank God that I could escape through my music or else I never would have survived high school.â€
Fortunately, however, Happy’s life would soon change. In the summer of 2006 she met music industry insider Christopher E. Long by chance backstage at a rock show in Nashville and the two kindred spirits clicked immediately. In 2007 Happy left Tennessee to join Long on Florida's fast-paced East Coast where she spent time writing songs, cutting demos and performing live.
In September 2008 she relocated to Nashville to begin working with her new band. 2009 club and concert dates will be announced soon.
