About Me

View The Jason Pratt Band's EPKProfile Edited by MPS MySpace Editor 2.0 Originally hailing from Andover, MA, I have spent years on the road touring in bands as a bassist, singer, and front man. Bass remains my principal instrument while studying at Berklee College of Music, but for as long I have been playing, I've been writing songs. Bass playing never offered the complete perspective of what I wanted to create musically. I love melody, chord structure, and lyrics so I began writing on guitar and piano from an early age. Now enrolled as the contemporary, writing, and production at Berklee, I finally have the opportunity to conceptualize my music with critical thinking tools given to me from my studies. I am no longer defined as just a bassist. I am a songwriter, arranger, producer, lyricist, singer, guitarist, pianist, bassist, and whatever else I need to be to keep evolving as a musician. The above two videos were written in the past six months. First, is a jingle contest I entered for a local Bernie and Phyl's Furniture. I came in second place. Next is a video I scored and engineered sound for over 2008/2009 winter break. Enjoy!
