The good news is that all this worry over being able to attract men was for naught. That's evidently

About Me

I'm just a girl. Arms, legs, head, heart. Sometimes sweet, sometimes wicked but always happy to be a friend.

My Interests

Words and language. Writing and interpretation. Artistry and the absurd. The obvious and the obscure.

I'd like to meet:

People who think beyond. Beyond what? You tell me.

Music:

I'm a bit schizoid when it comes to music. Pet Shop Boys, Howard Jones, Robert Palmer, Garbage, The Cure, old Guns N Roses, rather a bit of classical, liturgical music (from my early beginnings studying vocal music), show tunes, Bette Midler, Bryan Ferry, Crowded House, George Micheal, Green Day, Jamiroquai, old school rap, Ms Dynamite, Elvis Costello, Depeche Mode, Oasis, Stereophonics, Kylie, Robbie Williams, The Police, Sting, Gorillaz, Steely Dan, Jimmy Buffett, Elton John, many, many one hit wonders, Kylie, Robbie Williams, Richard Cheese, Offspring, New Order, Squeeze, Sade, loads of crappy Brit pop and some Euro pop/dance/electronica. If I like a song, I like it. There may be no rhyme or reason. I just like it.

Movies:

Ichi the Killer, Amadeus, Suicide Club, Dreamchild, Clueless, The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, Gozu, loads of stuff in the Extreme Asian genre, The Devil's Backbone, That Obscure Object of Desire, Moulin Rouge!, Last Life In The Universe, A Chorus Line: The Movie, Hostel, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Jesus Camp, Big Trouble in Little China, Rozencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Clueless, Airplane and Airplane II, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (of course), several films by Almodovar.

Television:

I barely even watch anymore! I blame Netflix.

Books:

In no partictular order: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, Master and Magarita, The Little Prince, Childhood's End, Lolita, The Voyage of The Dawn Treader, Crime and Punishment, Le Petit Prince, Felix Salter's Bambi, Interview With The Vampire, Dreaming In Pictures: The Photography Of Lewis Carroll, The Story Of O, The Good Earth, King Queen Knave, The Stranger, The Hellbound Heart, 2001: A Space Oddessy, Where The Wild Things Are, Bunnicula, Immaculate Deception II, The Curious Incident of the Dog the Night-Time...I'm sure I'll think of more.

Heroes:

Ah! The age old question...

The Time Has Come, The Walrus Said...

To talk of many things.Of shoes--and ship--and sealing wax--Of cabbage--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot--And whether pigs have wings. OK, enough Carroll, although I can't promise it won't s...

Tell Me Something Good

I fucking hate Motrin. Really, I do. We've just learned that they're discontinuing their children's dye-free cold formulation. Why is that bad? Well, my autistic 7 year old has an allergy to artificia...

Those talking GPS thingies

So, I see commercials for those talking GPS devices that tell you "Left turn, eight feet." and my first thought tends to be "Oh dear gods, how utterly irritating." But then I think, what happens if th...

Raindrops Keep Fallin'

Today was a rainy day, as anyone in Nashville knows, and at lunch I waded through a sea of umbrellas, drying under the covered walkway. (Some blew away whilst their owners lunched, which I found a bit...

Pretty! Pretty! Shiny! Shiny!

Christmas is coming and, even though I generally don't care so much about celebrating the consumerist nightmare that is the modern day incarnation of the holiday, (and not forgetting that, in reality,...
