Born on the Crimson Tide, raised in Virginia since he was 7..... It's a different approach to Hip-Hop. It's a lot of talent out there and the only way to make a true name for yourself is to offer the people something different. A true fan and a listener of all genre’s of music. Welcome Northern Virginia's own Drop7.
It started out with short stories and plays for his teachers and friends in elementary school. Poems came shortly after that. Coming up with ideas was easy for him. He was blessed with the ability to sing and rap but it wasn't until he graduated from high school that he fully embraced just wanting to be a lyricist. Since then it's been an interesting journey......After crossing that stage to get his diploma, he did the college thing for a couple years, still doing his music in his spare time but never maximizing his potential. Maybe it was fear of rejection or lack of focus that made him stop taking music seriously...either way life decisions had to be made.
In search of direction and discipline, Drop ended up joining the military in 2001. Four years in the military changed him...He still wrote in his book of rhymes and spit for his friends and family on occasion but it was definitely not his main focus. He's was an engineer now, he had responsibilities; he thought he was good....But something was missing.
It was time for Drop7 to really get into it. He ran with a coalition, rapped with some of the best in the state but never came out with his own project. Until now... "I made a decision to start up my own movement", he explains after listening to the current state of Hip-Hop. In his own state there hasn't been anyone to really make an impact outside of Northern Virginia. So I'd like to welcome you to the Open Your Mind Movement..... It's something for the people who truly love music. His rap resume may be short, but the talent will speak for itself..... He's here and he's ready to make a change, are you?
