I am here for Friends

About Me

I am blonde but, dyed my hair red. I am a vegetarian and eat pretty healthy but, I still love cookies, brownies and ice cream. I like to work out but, I also like to be lazy. I am a hermit because it's rare for me to go out at night. I like music but, I don't like Barbara Streisand. I have a license but, I hate driving cars (so I don't own one). I love my new careers but, I would really love to be retired. I have a boyfriend, and he's awesome. I miss my kittens more than I should when I go on vacation (they are spoiled). I have recently learned that I am a bit of a perfectionist. Who woulda thought. I can be serious but, I really like to be a silly dork. Trees, flowers and plants are beautiful. I like waking up to chilly mornings. I like making goals and reaching them.

My Interests

Lots of things but with my self Diagnosed ADD I don't get to do nearly enough of them. Some of these fun little interests include but are not limited to, taking naps, XC Skiing, Yoga, cycling, running/hiking and all the other things that include working out outside or inside, reading, learning, gardening, doing nothing (that's a good one) knitting (don't do enough of that), massage, muscles, being healthy

I'd like to meet:

anyone and everyone. everyone has at least one good story to tell.

Music:

I like music. Lately I have been listening to The Ditty Bops, Datri Bean, KT Tunstall, Martin Sexton, Sophie Solomon, Brett Dennon, Of Montreal, Yo La Tengo, Broken Social Scene and the rest of my random rap, hiphop, pop, indy, classical, oldies, 70's, 80's etc etc that I have on my ipod and play for my spin classes. I like pretty much everything. KEXP is a great radio station.

Movies:

I like Triplets of bellevile, The Big Libowski, Office Space, American Beauty, Goodwill Hunting, Rushmore, Everythings Illuminated, Old black and white movies and others I can't think of. I've worked at two movies stores... and after you worked at one I think it gets harder to find a good movie.

Television:

YES, I watch television! Do I want to? NO! But, sometimes I need mind numbing entertainment that doesn't involve moving (I guess that's what meditation is for).

Books:

the best book that i've read in a long time is called, Life of Miro. It makes you think about life and spirituality. I also love A Cofederacy of Dunces, Diet for a small planet, Voluntary Simplicity, Being No one, Going Nowhere and pretty much any books on natural/sustainable living and natural/organic foods. I prefer non-fiction or realistic fiction but the occasional fantasy land book is fun too. A Confederacy of Dunces, Life of Miro, The Peacefull Warrior (Before they made a movie on it), Blithe Tomato, Driving over Lemons, Voluntary Simplicity, Diet for a Small Planet, Celestine Prophecy, etc etc. The list could go on because I am a total book whore. I pretty much like any book on natural/sustainable living, natural/organic foods and massage/healthy living. I prefer non-fiction or realistic fiction but the occasional fantasy land book is fun too.

Heroes:

you are. Really everyone has something in them that makes them my hero. I admire those who are confident in themselves and know what they want, truly good people who don't think they are better than everybody else, people that have one dollar in their bank account and are still happy with life and what it's dealt for them and people that realize they need change in their life so they do it without knowing what their next step will be... they just know it will make life better for them.

Merry Xmas

Merry Christmas to everyone. I have never been one for the Holidays. Really no one in my family is. I'm not entirely sure why. While I was growing up, I held such high standards for everything (I ...

Man I miss him

What a beautiful day. One of those days my dad would have enjoyed. It's 40 degrees outside with a light rain&. What a perfect day for a walk. Where should we go, to Lake Michigan? Maybe out to Lap...
