About Me

Create your own Friend Quiz here I am 43 years old, married to the love of my life for 18 years and have 3 beautiful children (18, 14 & 12). We are a Navy family recently retired in Illinois.
I am a Christian and try to live my life doing what I think will honor Him. I have dedicated my life to fully relying on Him and try to remember everyday that having faith means depending upon God, not myself.
I have been a Girl Scout leader for 12 years and have loved every (well almost every) moment of it. I homeschooled my son for 2 years -- boy was that a wild ride!! But now the two little (okay, not so little anymore :::sob::::) ones are in the evil school system (he's in private and she's in public)and so far they're really enjoying it! My eldest is in college. (Am I *really that old?? =:-O) I'm pretty busy. But I'm not sure I'd know how to function any other way.
I have been truly blessed with a wonderful, loving family and great, supportive friends all who have helped me get to where I am today. I have reached a point in my life where I really like who I am. I admit I'm a bit of a drama queen (okay maybe more than just a bit), but I guess that's okay since I'm also the mom of a Drama Queen and Drama King. LOL

I'd like to meet:

Other than the usual suspects -- Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King, Jr., etc, the person I'd most like to meet is my maternal Grandmother. I actually did meet her, but she died when I was almost 3 years old and my only memory of her is of her on her deathbed in the hospital. I'd love to meet her and get to know her.

Music:

I like all kinds of music. I don't like country very much, but it's what I grew up with and so sometimes I find myself listening to it and getting nostalgic. I'm not real fond of rap, but since it plays in the house a lot, I find myself listening to it a lot more than I ever thought I would.

Movies:

My favorite movies are Full Monty and 2nd Hand Lions. I love movies that make me laugh.

Television:

I watch mostly reality TV - Amazing Race, American Idol, Survivor, So You Think You Can Dance and What Not to Wear. I am hooked on watching House, Bones and Deal or No Deal. My all-time favorite shows were Quantum Leap and The Pretender.

Books:

Right now I'm hooked on reading Diana Gabaldon. Some of my other favorite authors include James Patterson, Janet Evanovich and Nora Roberts. Really, I'll read just about anything except Science Fiction.

Heroes:

Right now, my biggest hero is my son. He's been through soooo much in the past year and he has never let it affect his sense of humor. He can laugh and make others laugh and I think that is so important. He has affected my life in so many ways and I'm proud that I'm his Mom. :-)
